I swapped a character to barbarian in Shadowkeeper. Everything appears to be working correctly except for the movement rate. I created a custom character barbarian and compared it in SK with this one, and all details are the same, including the movement rate saying it is 0 (normal). What do I need to do to get the correct barbarian movement rate?
Thanks!

increase the movement rate by one or two using SK, depending on what the barbarian does.

Maybe I can test it with a run comparison or something. The barbarian lists "0" but says movement is increased by 2. I'm not sure if that 2 is the same as the 2 in the mod or not.

You could create a new game as a cannon barbarian and then use SK to see the difference.

That's what I did initially but it didn't reveal the answer.

I've also since discovered that a converted barbarian using SK is not immune to backstab. Most likely this means that other problems will arise. Somebody must have done this at some point and have a suitable method.

What do you mean by "converted"? There's three things you need to do to get an exact copy of a barbarian using SK in terms of abilities, movement, etc.
1. make sure the class is "Fighter" and the kit is set to "Barbarian". Once you select it from the drop down, you have to hit "set value", then ok on the pop up. That sets the kit.
2. On the Innate tab, use the Kit button, then select starting level as 001 and level as the level your character is at. This will give you the correct Barbarian Innate powers (your correct number of Rages).
3. On the Affect tab, you have to set the proper affect for their class. Barbarians have only one affect, for their movement. The easiest way to do this is to open up the Affect tab for a Barbarian created properly, highlight the affect and hit copy. then go to the Affect tab on the character you want to "convert" and hit "paste".
FYI, I wanted to see where the immunity to backstab is and it's under #1 - once you set the kit, that character is immune to backstab. I just tried it out - I SK'd a Fighter and all I changed was setting the kit, saved the game, opened that edited game and had a fighter/thief backstab him, and I got the "backstab seemed to fail" message that you'd expect. I'm not sure what you did or didn't do in SK, but just changing the class worked for me.
In general, when modding a character with SK, remember that the Innates only gives the actual Innate powers that you activate using the F12 button menu. Permanent things like immunites are granted upon character creation and live under the Affects tab. For example an Inquisitor gets immunity to Hold and Charm - if you look at one in SK, you'll see like 12 different affects on that tab, both for the immunities to charm person, dominate, hold person, web, etc and for the character icons.

I took all of these steps. It appears the movement is now working (maybe it took a game restart), but the backstab is definitely not. I converted Minsc to barbarian at the start of BG2. It makes sense to me and I want to keep around his silliness for a good while. As a ranger that's a bit harder to do I think. It would be nice if the backstab immunity was working properly though. I've double checked everything and all of the display elements on the character sheet in game show him as a barbarian. If I phony-level him to test things out, he gets damage resistance correctly, and his movement is now working. He can be backstabbed though for sure.
I also checked to make sure my version of SK was up to date, and it is.
<edit> I just tried backstabbing a properly rolled barbarian (then leveled to 8 in SK) with Imoen, and she nailed him for 23 damage with a shortsword. It appears my backstab problem is something a bit deeper. Does a common mod screw it up or something? Any fixes?

It definitely says " Backstab: quadruple damage" or whatever that message is when Imoen hits him?
The version of shadowkeeper wouldn't matter. If you want to level up characters 100% properly, just the console cheat
CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("xxxx") and replace the xxx inside the quotes to give yourself the XP, then you can hit the Level UP button and level up properly.
If you post your the contents of your weidu.log file we can take a look at the mods you've got installed, but for me, just setting the Kit = Barbarian was enough to get the "the backstab seemed to fail" message.

Yes, that type of message is what I am getting with a new or modified barbarian. I will link up some info tomorrow.

Then your barbarians are working properly. When that message comes up, it means that the character that got hit is immune to backstab. they still take normal damage, just not the multiplied backstab.

I should have been a little clearer. The message I got was the "4x" or whatever damage one. I've never seen the immune one.
Here are the contents of my Weidu.log file, and thanks again for all your help.
