I never whould have thought this......as I was so mad over the way they were going, but that was what I thought.

I love the story, I was never left for too long with out the Warden's name being brought up or what he/she did and Hawke really seemed to look up to them. The story was great and helps lead to a even bigger story.

I loved Hawke and his/her story, the lose and how he/she rose above it to be a good person, that is if you played it that way.

The combat was great and please keep this, faaster and I could pause and comand my team, was so great! I love how mike seemed to know what to work on in this area, I was one that thought it was fine, I was wrong.

I really love the voice over PC, never thought I would. I think it brought out better character depth and showed how it works so much better then just a fast food menu. I loved the banter in thsi game.

Characters were great and  as I said above, getting to talk with them made it much better.

Hawke, I loved his/sher story, was just like to Warden for me, treated people right and took care of his/her own.

I felt so bad for Hawke and his/her family, story quest, was just heartbreaking.

I really liked the new armor sets, they looked they took some thinking and thats great.

I play on the PC and I could pan out just fine, no grips in that.

I wish  we could have changed the armor of the other party  members, but that was a small price to pay for a great game and story.

I was left with this, this was  DA2 and it kept the core of DA with it, I never for once felt that I was in some other game, it brought back old characters that will play a major part in the main story and that to me was great and I loved and love the Warden,  the end game  gave me hope of his/her return. I loved Hawke too, never thought I would say that but he/she was well made and I thank David, MIke and the rest of the team of BioWare for that, given a short deadline, you did it and thank you.

Man it was great and Mike, David and company worked hard on this game, I am sorry I didn't back them on it, that won't happen again.

I was thinking, man I loved the voiced Hawke, I think a voiced Warden would be great too.

The same happens in threads where people give their reasons for not liking the game... then the OP gets slammed for not paying attention to the story or being too shallow to see how great the game was, so there's no need to flamebait.

I'm glad that OP enjoyed the game, and thats coming from someone who didn't.

the game is fun, but feels like i am playing a movie. very little fighting, so much questing just running to this part of town, to that part of town, and back. there are very few battles, and if you do, they are short. you spend your time not watching a movie, just running from point A in 1 part of town, to point B in another part. graphics are nice, the voice overs are nice, and the battle system is nice, but you just don't get to hardly ever use it. that is what i loved about the first one, there was a little talking here and there, and a crapload of stuff to go kill! how i miss the original and the expo to it.

I agree that battles could have been a little longer, but IMO, it was done well. I really try to think of what they did bad.......not much, armor for others characters in your party, the race for some people, but I'am human and I like that and I hope they stay that rout with the Warden in DA3, but I think they could make a character build of the 3 races. I just have to say this game was not good but great, just like DAO and as I have said before, I never thought I would have said it. Great work Team BioWare...you guys and gals never have let me down.

Thank you.

Honestly? I was dissapointed and I do miss aspects of Dragon Age, and I will eventually go back and play a little more Dragon Age just to enjoy those things that I miss.

But it is a very wonderful game. I am usually dissapointed with sequals or continuations, but I was pleasently suprised with this one, I even find myself appropriately pleased with the ending, whereas I was somewhat upset with it at first, I'm actually starting to grow into it.

On its own, it was an amazing game combat wise, story wise, and so on. I did feel there were a few less choices to be made than Origins (for each area essentially choosing a faction to join me in the final and having key decisions to make to appease those that I want to choose) versus this one where it feels mostly like your path is definitely laid out before you, and the only real option you have to make is at the very end.

All in all, I adore this game, and won't be putting it down for a while, and will be purchasing the DLC's and such, however Origins because of its differences isn't nearly as dead to me as I thought thanks to these differences, also!

I liked the game too and the story was the best part IMO. A lot people who make arguments for what didn't work have my respect. I just don't like people who have an ideal about what this game should've been and don't want to deal with the reality of what it actually is...

The game has flaws and this does break immersion in some places, but the story is well-written and entertaining. I like how one poster mentioned Joss Whedon. He is a very talented writer who can write characters well. The story in Dragon Age 2 felt more relaxed than Origins and maybe the writers are becoming more comfortable with writing for this universe they have created.

In the end, Hawke ended up kinda lonely. I romanced Merril, but even the two of them in your mansion in high town seemed kinda lonely at the end. Like their families had both abandoned them (intentionally or not).

My favorite moments were when Leliana and Alistair show up in Act 3. I do hope we see more Leliana in the next installment and that the warden is reunited with her if she was a romance option.

I have played this game for over 50 hours since it released and there still is tons of tactics, skilltrees and stuff i have not done yet. It can be played on easy but when you crank up the difficulty the combat feels excellent and the depth of the gameplay emerges, its certainly challenging to me.I prefer to play on hard, nightmare is still to much of a struggle for me to be enjoyable.
I would like to see someone buttonmesh through hard or insanity.
I can understand why some people have a gripe with the reused locations and the thumbed down armor customisation for party members but all in all i am having a great time with this game and i'm not nearly done playing.

Combat is so much more satisfying then Origins ever was. I am playing Nightmare currentl I am 67 hours in an not finished. I am really enjoying it and reqires much more tactics. Some people complain about the waves, I understand but I find that just adds to the fast paced combat. Origins was just too slow and unbalanced.

Also it's not to play a Bioware game that isn't about saving the world/galaxy. I do miss some features but DA2 is a good game and people need to stop complaining so much.

I agree. I feel they've out done themselves on the combat. Very well tuned on nightmare. I had to pull out everything on the rock wraith.

Played a female Warrior on Normal for the first play through. Now It's a male Rogue on nightmare. I'm having a blast.

Waits for a troll to call me a fangirl, or a Bioware employee!

Well, I just finished my first playthrough on nightmare and must say I thought it was brilliant. There are a few definite things that could be changed for sure, but the story was so well written, the combat on nightmare was challenging and tough (albeit frustrating at times) and the game just felt right. I was totally hooked from the beginning and while it's not perfect by anyone's stretch of the imagination I thought it was brilliantly put together and an allround ****-****-awesome game.

I'm not a huge fan of the story, but the combat was great. I played on Hard, and the majority of fights took a bit of effort, especially with all those rogues running around backstabbing my team. Some of the boss fights were exceptional. Honestly, I was able to overlook pretty much every aspect of the story that I found lacking simply because combat was such a thrill.

Blood magic was awesome, and far exceeded my expectations. I only wish there were more spell tomes so I could get just a few more spells, but hey, that's what multiple playthroughs are for. It didn't seem all that great when I read the pre-release info, but there are so many items that increase the power of blood magic that you can end up casting spells for up to 1/9th of their cost!

Next up is probably a 2 handed warrior... I had good times when I occasionally switched over to Fenris.
