Anyone know what it is and where you get it?  I've heard "ring of no wishes", but in my game (act III) it says nothing about knockback, only about stun immunity.

Knockback is driving me crazy on my rogue, to the point where I don't want to play her anymore, so answer much appreciated!

Knockback sucks but it is part of the challenge and in some way I enjoy it; I am playing a DW rogue and she is affected by knockback but I have major investments in Shadow so I always try to stay obscured or stealthed; strike quickly and stay close to Aveline so she soaks up the aggro; it;s the best you can do.

As a mage, Force Mage is really helpful in this regard.

I just found one for sale in Act 2. Also, just made this Wiki page so I can link it. :P

http://dragonage.wik...ng_of_the_Twins

Just to save a click, here are the stats:

+2 strength
+4% critical change
+9% critical damage
+15% healing to this character
Immunity to knockback

Sold by the Nexus Golem deep in the Abandoned Thaig accessed by entering the "Recently Opened Passage"" on Sundermount during Act 2 for 84g 68s.

I consider it money well spent to avoid the annoyance of knockback chains. If Aveline wasn't already knockback immune, I'd consider giving it to her and I imagine it'd be nice on Fenris too... but I hate knockback.

I am halfway through act 3 on hard, I know how to play a rogue, i just don't enjoy it.  Especially since, as a duelist with an ability which makes mobs attack me, it would be nice if I could, y'know, duel.

Thanks Rehwyn. Sadly, in act 3 it seems to be gone on the Golem, but at least I know it exists and can either go back to Act II or pick it up another time.

edit: yeah, confirmed.  It's there in Act 2 -- I had a save from after the fight (the chest is on the other side of the Golem), but not in Act 3.

Don't have enough money, however.  Sigh. ;)

EDIT: Was going to ask if it was there in Act 3, and saw the response after posting.

Bummer about it not being there. I'll update the wiki to reflect that. Thanks.

I passed that ring up when I saw it because I didn't have the gold for it. At work now, I cannot check, any idea if that recently opened passage can even be re-entered once you have been there once.........and if the golem merchant is still there?

The golem is still there in act 3, he has a different set of equipment to sell, some nice stuff, actually, but not that ring.  However it's not a clear run, there are new mobs to fight, though nothing as bad as the first time through.

I think I may just do a new rogue run, and make sure I have the money when I go there. Frankly, I'll sacrifice buying anything else to be able to have that ring.  It's also really useful if you want to have Isabella in the party (if you aren't a rogue) and don't want to have to constantly micro her.

Rehwyn, the wiki is wrong now, the golem is there in Act 3, he just has a different set of gear (the chest is now on the other side of him, and the original chest is missing.)

It might be unavailable later, but I just went back to Kirkwall and returned as a test and he was still there. I imagine he's kinda like the Magus dude on the coast and will be there the whole act.

It's definitely worth it. I've died an annoyingly high number of times because I kept getting knockback while trying to Decoy or Miasmic Flask or Stealth or drink a potion. ~_~

Ah, thanks. Misunderstood, but changed it again.

If you do a new dw rogue then I suggest investing heavily in both Shadow and Subterfuge; their abilities will keep you well hidden and safe and also free to attack AND not get knocked back.

The golem is still there in act 3, he has a different set of equipment to sell, some nice stuff, actually, but not that ring.  However it's not a clear run, there are new mobs to fight, though nothing as bad as the first time through.

Not sure how to find item codes or I'd give it to you. Google search failed me too. =/

Thanks; I have just been investing a lot in shadow and subterfuge; keep those guys off me and threat low...

backpedal as an enemy swings at you, then push the 'Target closest and attack' button (R by default) to leap back. You'll dodge their attack and wont get knockback. Mobs telegraph their attacks pretty clearly, so its not too hard to do. Archers are a pain at range still though.

Wow, didn't know about pressing R to target and attack. Kept getting annoyed sometimes when I couldn't right-click something to attack. ~_~

Still, having the knockback immunity means you can't get chained if you do get hit.

Okay, it's not a ring, but there is another nice rogue item I just found with knockback immunity. It's in Act 3 and the boss you fight when doing the "clear the bandits" or whatever quest in Lowtown drops it.

Carta's Left Hand
Dagger - Onyx
42 physical damage (78 dps)
+87 attack
+10% crit damage
Immunity to knockback
25% change to reduce attack speed
25% change to reduce movement speed
Req: 41 dex

I'm pretty sure this is one of the best daggers in the game. Soooo... if you want to wait until Act 3, you can save some money and skip the ring. Or, buy and and then give it to your tank once you get the dagger.
