I got a question for the ladies, how do you all feel about chivalry?
It's massively underrated and lacking in today's society. Chivalry isn't dead, but is in need of some mouth-to-mouth.

Chivalry has been bred into me from birth, as is the Berzerkergang trait of my nordic ancestors. This means I will open doors for women, and I will offer my coat or even the shirt off my back to them if they are feeling cold.

Some women are nice, feminists, malicious, sweet, or some are all those things rolled into one. Don't buy into that men are women are all the same. We are all humans and have different things that make us tick. Good luck in your romantic adventures.
Remember as a man, if your in a serious relationship, respect your wife, fiancee, or girlfriend and give her what she wants. If she wants you to go out and get a job then do it. If she wants you to save your money then do it. If she tells you to sleep on the couch then do it. *I'm kind of in the dog house right now so I have to walk on egg shells. It stinks but what can I do? Nothing...
*A person once told me when talking to a women don't talk about yourself. 'Most' women love to talk about themselves so be a good 'selective' listener. Stay away from interrupting girl talk and if you start dating someone stay away from gossip to avoid the he said she said debacle.

Well, chivalry is great, and adds a lot of points
Just... remember that we need our own space too, and that sometimes a woman just want to be alone. Be a gentleman, not a shadow.
Not every girl likes a guy glued to them 24/7 (Some of us like it, of course)

What are your thoughts on chest hair? Is it better to be bare, or to have at least some chest hair?
There is a current trend now among men to shave their chest hair, which I find ridiculous. Perhaps if you're hairy like a bear I could understand, but if you have a normal amount of chest hair (like Varric LOL) then removing it is unnecessary.
I tried shaving mine once, and it was terrible. My chest and abdomen looked more defined, but that was the only good thing, as it itched like the dickens when it started growing back. I ended up missing my "fur" though and promised never to shave it again.
A few of the younger women I've been with claimed they didn't like chest hair until they felt mine. Mine is soft and downy, so it feels like cat fur

As a man with an overly hairy chest I conclude that its dependant on the individual woman. Some are mesmerised by it and others disgusted. Occassionally men, small woodland animals, birds and the occassional trout can be mesmerised by a hairy chest too.

Dated a guy who had chest hair shaped like the batman symbol that was... interesting.
If I really like him it's not going to be a deal breaker. Some chest hair can be sign of masculinity but Robin Williams kinda hair is perhaps a little too much. Yet again probably going to depend on the girl.
Cat fur huh?

And she actually finds herself more attracted to the male oder(Say if your sweating) what that translates to that a female body without her even noticing it is making herself more attractive to the other sex, by finding his smell "sexy" and her voice becoming more sweeter.
The study they did was some males did not see the female, only heard her voice speak a single sentence and then they had the females repeat the same sentences (during that time of the month) and males thought it sounded more attractive.
Also in the study, they say let's say your not the most handsome man on the block. A car is something a woman looks that, a car says alot about you. Oddly enough in this study even if the male is not attractive, (let's say on a scale to ten he would be a 4 on looks) if he has money, women automaticly rate him higher.
This was an actual true study done in people trying to learn about women and men and how they are attracted to each other. However these are my questions to women, any woman can answer, however many times. Consider it a poll
1. You and your man are driving in a car with your kids in the backseat, BAM! your lover hit's a stranger in the middle of the road.
Do you A: cover it up
B: tell the police
2. Second situation, let's say you and your lover are fasley accused of robbing a bank. it's a complete frame job they have you in seperate rooms and sweating you both. One of you will go to jail for 5 years and one will get probation.
A: Do you tell them what cops want to hear
B: Remain in silence hoping your partner won't turn you in
3. Let's say your dating a guy for about a month. It's sorta serious. However you high school crush just showed up at your door step and your madly in love with him, he wants to romance you
A: let the guy romance you without telling the guy you are seeing
B: Refuse your high school sweet heart, and stick with guy your with
4. If your man could have any car, which car would you choose for him

It's strange, I was just watching a two hour long program about the science of sexual attraction they had some interesting theorys in place. For example did you know that when a woman is close to her (time of the month she could get preg) that her actual voice changes to sweet

I have to agree. Chivalry almost seems like coddling to me. I would assume most modern ladies prefer to fend for themselves.

Chivalry is primarily about being a genuinely good person or at the very least, someone who doesnt put themselves before others. Seriously, do you honestly think Chivalrous men are trying take away your self reliance an wanna treat you like you can't take care of yourself?
I've been hearing from almost every woman I've met that they want their man to be a gentleman instead of an egotistical jerk that abuses them an treats them like dirt.
And most GOOD men are not dating you because they think you can't take care of yourself, they are dating you because of what they see in you - if you don't want your man to treat you like a princess then say so! Why can't you do that instead?
To me when it comes to relationships, I treat my woman how she wants me to treat her, and most of the time I just want my date/partner to be comfortable an happy - she wants a massage, I'll give her a massage until she feels better, she wants space, I'll give it to her, she needs help with something or looks like she could use some help, I'll help her out to the best of my abilities, and after all that, all I expect from her is the respect I give her an for her to simply get to know me.
If thats something to steer clear of, something you find annoying, or something that you hate about honest men, then I guess good men are not for you.
Seriously, is that too much? Is that something to complain about?
I'm just at an extreme loss....

Wait, the mod is a female?
"dum,dum,dum"

It seems so. We should make a note of this for future reference before we start blurting out chauvinistic nonsense. I mean, not that I do that anyway, of course![smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]
More questions:
1.) I've of heard some sources that claim chivalry is inherently condescending. Uh, why? I've always viewed it as being polite. Maybe politeness is going out of style as well:??
2.) In the past I've been accused of being a "meninist". How would you define "meninism," and what tendencies would make one a "meninist"?
3.) How can I turn a woman down without burning the bridge or creating lots of tension? Am I better off burning the bridge?
