Looks: More important at first, also necessary for the attraction early on. After a while you get to know the person though and personality takes over. The more you like someone the prettier they become. It goes the other way too.
So in short term: Mainly looks.
For the long run: Mainly personality.

Uh oh. We now allow the breastified denizens to dole out punishment?! Back in my day, only the flat-chested could slap you on the wrist with a rotting salmon.
...What has the BSN come to?

I have a question, what is this "girl" thing you speak of?
Small angry creatures that live in kitchens, capable of evacuating your bowels with a single glare and winning arguments even when being astoundingly illogical. Their principle diet is shoes, they can hunt in packs or alone.
They were thought extinct until one was discovered in the 1930's outside Gateshead, England. It was reported to be dazed and asking "Do I look fat in this?" before becoming irrate and storming off with the words "Well if you don't know whats wrong then I'm not telling you!". Several years later more were found in southern California in an undiscovered mall. They were declared an endangered species until 1972 when they were taken off the endangered species list by the WWF (they also introduced the women's championship that year. a man was champion for the first 7 years before a woman finally won the belt but gave it back when it didn't match her shoes and it allegedly made her arse look big). Today they live alongside mankind as faithful companions but they have never been fully domesticated and can be quite dangerous if handled incorrectly.

I still find it hard to think of them [edit: Minis, that is] as BMWs as they're made just up the road. Even though we had a big sausagey German living next door doing managerial things over there.Pacifien wrote...

There's one parked outside our house. It's a bit skittish though, I never really trusted it again after it spun on a roundabout.MajorStranger wrote...

1.) I've of heard some sources that claim chivalry is inherently condescending. Uh, why? I've always viewed it as being polite. Maybe politeness is going out of style as well:??
Hmmm...depends what is meant by "chivarly" here. I find it nice when guys keep the store door open for me or pull over to help me with a flat tire. However let's say that I need to get some parts to get my car fixed and I go to the store to buy them myself and the clerk comes to me with this all-knowing smirk on his face asking "Need some help, miss?" I can't help but getting a little snarky...I guess the best way to asses the situation would be to ask if the woman needs help or then, like in the latter example, wait for her to ask for the help if she needs it. Modern women are stubborn. At least I am.
If we're talking about the general "nice guy syndrome" then uh...well...my life was in a bit of a "crashed through the floor" level a few years back and I was more or less a mess. I kept bumping into this guy at a bar who was genuinely interested and worried about me and I know he wanted to make me feel better but he approached the issue all wrong...constantly saying he feels sorry for what I'm going through and how he would want to hold me and hug me and make me feel all better. But the thing is...it doesn't work and it comes off as feeling sorry for you. I didn't need nor want anyone's pity so he only ended up putting me off.
In the end we're all alone with out own personal life so cuddling doesn't do much good. Or then I'm just a bit cynical *shrug* Anyhow, best solution with sad girls is to just BE there. Make her know that she can rely on you but don't blabber on about her sorrow 24/7.
2.) In the past I've been accused of being a "meninist". How would you define "meninism," and what tendencies would make one a "meninist"?
*checks dictionary*
Oh this kind of questions. Sorry, I don't do these.
3.) How can I turn a woman down without burning the bridge or creating lots of tension? Am I better off burning the bridge?
Depends on the woman but I guess that in general it's rather hard. I personally can't just 100% forget being turned down so it's easier for me to just cut connections. Especially if I feel like I've been lead on. Then again I'm not really the type to fall for someone without first getting some mutual interest indication first.
Also, if there's anything I loathe then it's being in a situation where you have to watch another woman grab and grobe your ex / interest right in front of your nose. It's not that my self-esteem would be bad or that I'm some crazy jealous chick, it's just simply an unpleasant situation alltogether. And if you were the one doing the turning down then you might not realize the situation. That's why I've always prefered the "out of sight, out of heart" method. Whether I'm the one turning down or being turned down.
Edit: Fixed some dorkyness
