Of course, I also prefer to pretend Awakenings never happened. So.

Besides that, I can see why some people find it irritating that BioWare sometimes 'handwaves' things, like bringing back Leliana after being able to killing her, but I don't really mind as it looks like we'll get a better story out of it, like Lelinna which already looks interesting (well it made me more interested in the character)
By the looks of things, the problem for DAO is that you can make a ton of choices around those pre-chosen plot points (like who kills the Archdemon). People seem to be mainly complaining that the imports for DAO into DA2 are watered down compared to what they did, like a five minute cameo and what not, but because theres just so many choices in DAO it probably had to be watered down because the technology isn't here yet to include absolutly everything and still have a hugely indepth plot, which makes me very nervous when it comes to the "God Baby" plotline

The warden would be difficult, if not impossible, to bring over to further dragon age games. It has to be about another party simply because everyone who did the ultimate sacrifice ending would be upset -- and make the game hard to comprehend by those who haven't played Origins. This is the same reason why the Old God Baby can never have a game revolve around it. There are people that went "Morrigan I see what ur doin thar!" and decided that sacrificing themselves was better than potentially having Morrigan raise some kid and potentially do to it what Flemeth wanted to do to her.
That's not to say, though, that your Warden can't play a part in things to come. But it can't be as the player-character.
Except this so isn't the case, even now--you must not have played a Mage Warden who survived Origins, because I can tell you point blank Bioware pretty much entirely disregarded that ending in DA2. My Warden was an Elf Mage who sided with the mages during the Circle Tower quest and got Alistair to declare the Fereldan Circle's independence as her boon. This was even reflected in the epilogue card, so it couldn't be handwaved. As far as I know not a single NPC in either Awakening or DA2 acknowledged that, it's like it was retconned out of existence. Not only that, but bat guano insane Cullen who flipped his taco when this happened, fled the Tower and was implied to have turned into a serial killer in my epilogue mysteriously gets shipped to Kirkwall like nothing ever happened, seemingly through the sheer power of fangirl prayers, and gets to be a hero. What?
So yeah, I wouldn't be so quick to assume that Gaider & co. have such great love of player-driven stories that they'll never do anything in the future with the Warden. If they want something to be canon for the sake of their story they will totally disregard any decisions we make in these games that will go against that. It especially pissed me off given this massive storyline they have going, if my Warden's ending had actually been taken into account it would have made DA2's stirrings of a mage vs. templar war far more compelling. At this point I'm basically looking to my own fanfic to continue the story I actually started in Origins, it actually fits the plot they have in mind more than this stuff they're shoving down our throats.
DA2 had a few bright points, don't get me wrong (though they mostly came way too late in the game), but it largely felt like I was at the mercy of a really bad rookie DM who had his/her own campaign's story all plotted out and the players were just there to be railroaded into it. Any "choice" was ultimately illusory and the NPCs were the real stars. It's pretty depressing, tbh.
Mr. Gaider has said that some things are canon and some things are not. Leliana, for example, shows up in the ending even if you killed her for the Sacred Ashes quest. The answer he gave to why this happened is: "You only think that you killed her."
Cheap? Possibly, but the man is the head writer and I can't argue with him. And considering that we're dealing with magical ashes that can do magical things to cure people, Leliana surviving isn't far fetched.
Who am I to argue if the answer to the whole Circle in Ferelden and Cullen serial killer answer is: "We tried it for a few years and it didn't work out!" or "Cullen was killing mages in Meredith's service!"? Both are logical solutions to the end of the game. And, frankly, it's Bioware's IP and in the end we're only along for the ride if we shell out the cash.
I genuinely believe that if they had implemented a slideshow of "And Sketch survived because Hawke killed all the Assassins! The Dalish clan was obliterated and wandered no more!" then people wouldn't be saying choice is illusory and there is no real choice in the game. There is clearly choice in the game. I could disregard some quests and deal with them later, completely clueless. You can murder all the Dalish. You can try to be Isabela's friend and she can run off. You can kill a group of marauders and have them come after you later. The choices you take are reflected in the gameplay itself and not the ending.
Heck, I hear that if you side with the templars constantly you can get made Viscount! Some people are saying it only matters if you side with the Templars at the end, but I didn't get that ending! And that makes sense, because I tried to play a moderating influence at the end instead of "MEREDITH IS RIGHT LET'S KILL BETHANY." I apparently missed out on something because of this! I chose once to let Anders walk, and surprise! He came back to battle my character. And then I reloaded earlier and just stabbed him in the back earlier and, whoops! I've made a martyr of him! It's not always the ending that you get, but how you get to that ending that matters.
This wasn't my original point though. So in case that got obfuscated somehow: the warden can't come back because there are too many possible wardens to account for. And: Mr. Gaider has said that the OGB is not canon. Full stop.

the warden will die before or in the beginning of DA3 if he isnt already dead.
he's too vague and varied of a character to include as any significant part of the story.
hawke however could easily be in DA3
now i would be angry if my warden dies and hawke is for da3. da3 needs be about my warden not some rag to riches guy
What this guy said, every damn word of it. I gave DA2 a shot and it was good but the end gave me more hope of seeing my Warden again. I never will aceept Hawke to replace The Warden.. never and BioWare has done nothing but dig themselfs a hole buy benching the Warden for a run of the mill kind of character.

To be honest, I only played through the game once (very long playthrough though) and the ending was so sudden I didn't get it either. So they're trying to form some sort of League of Extraordinary Fereldans... They'd better know what they're doing cause that premise ruined a lot of sequels.
Let me guess.......The Warden is Sean Connery who plays Allen Quatermain.......LOL. That is funny as hell.
