Female Meliyah Hawke the best friend you could ever ask for, always willing to go above and beyond for them but wasnt afraid to set them straight or speak her mind. Highly valued friends and family, and because of the relationship with her sister (before she died
) she had a really soft spot for mages and their plight. Outside of her inner circle, ruthless. Death was always the only option. Always joked with Varric, had sex with Isabella, fell in love with Merrill, and lost respect for Fenris cause he hit it and quit it.

For the most part, my character was nice, always looking to find a peaceful solution. But when the times called for it, was also stern, aggressive, and witty. I mixed it up a lot depending on how I felt about the subject.

Rachel Hawke was more or less a murderous **** to anyone but her friends... and the ones who proved their friendship to be less than genuine came to regret it rather abruptly and finally. By the end, Anders and Fenris were both very, very dead at her hands, and the only reason Isabella lived was because Rachel didn't know where she was. Had Bethany not been among the circle mages, chances are very good she would have backed the Annulment wholeheartedly.

My first Hawke is usually diplomatic or charming when talking with most people, but conversations with Templar and Chantry types usually get sarcasm or abruptness.

My first was a peaceful warrior who sided with the mages and spared as many lives as he could.
My second is a sarcastic rogue (who so far is a lot more enjoyable imo) who will side with the templars. Playing him as a total mage hater just for fun.

Allison Hawke has a heart of gold and cares for her friends above all reason... for good or ill. She also loves to joke around, and sometimes does so at the expense of vital tact. This is her starting personality. She strives to do the right thing despite circumstance sometimes forcing her into less-than-honorable actions (such as her time with the Red Irons). Her family is the most important thing in her life, and her sister's situation as an apostate mage has given her a strong motivation to sympathize with apostates, a stance that gradually shifts from recklessly sympathetic to reasonably neutral in later years, the major catalyst being the murder of her mother.
After becoming the Champion and spending a good number of years with no family to keep her company (besides Anders), thinking on things that have gone before, her good humor fades somewhat and the final year before Anders blows up the Chantry finds Allison a more mature, albeit less high-spirited, person.
Her romance with Anders coupled with the neutrality she attempts to maintain during that final year make the decision between mages and Templars a difficult choice, and she may have actually sided with the Templars had Meredith not been so unreasonable at the time.
Her dedication to her friends is sometimes unreasonable. The tragic death of Merril's former Keeper and the Dalish clan's violent response stung Hawke nearly as much as Merril herself, and despite her anger at Anders, she was unable to really let him go during the final battle. What becomes of Allison Hawke after the battle is anyone's guess, but even she is starting to realize that her own good heart might be her undoing someday.

Wow. A lot of aggressive or diplomatic Hawkes here. My Mage Hawke functioned pretty much how I do in most situations, with a few changes. For the most part, he's a sarcastic and relatively friendly guy, though he has his moments of rage and going too far. When the situation called for it, he was caring and diplomatic, there's a time for being hilarious and a time when it's serious business.
He sided with the Mages against Meredith's blatant corruption though he's not very amused with a lot of the Blood Magic he's seen fellow mages wielding. Mages should be policed by mages, but should be policed nonetheless.

Francesca either amuses or annoys people whenever she opens her mouth. One might think she's always an easygoing, carefree gal she appears to be, but it is not so. She often hides her real feelings behind a wall of jokes, and the only times she appears to be truly angry is whenever her family, namely sister and mother, are threatened.
She doesn't really care for mages, but sides with them for the sake of her sister and her dislike of templars. Francesca is very friendly witht most of her companions sans Fenris who she wishes she could strangle at times. Well, she was also mighty pissed at Anders by the end of the game, but she couldn't bring herself to kill him.
She also likes money, but will not go out of her way and ask to be paid if she sees that whomever she helped doesn't have much of it.

Timothy Hawke was a Mage. He was aggressive towards anyone he met initially and was very down-to-business. He hated the chantry, but did not like to see people lose their lives meaninglessly. He shared pro-mage ideals with Anders and fell in love (despite flirting with Merril a lot). As he aged, he became friendly and peaceful with his companions, though he remained stern towards everyone else. He also clashed and argued with Fenris most of the time, their dieals being so far apart. In the end he supported Anders and the mages, starting the rebellion and having to kill Fenris for not supporting it. Aveline chose to fight with him however.
River Hawke is an insufferable smart-ass who sees humor in just about everything. She is bisexual, takes very little seriously and was immediately compatible with Isabela. She made friends with just about all of her companions, except Merrill who she continually tried to warn and protect to no avail. The slow loss of all of her family and especially the loss of her mother to a blood mage hardened her heart against magic however, and when Anders betrayed and used her for his heinous crime, she did not hesitate to kill him and side with Meredith. However, Merill, having seen the damage caused by her own blood magic when it forced the destruction of her entire clan by her own hands, sided with Hawke, seeing the situation as hopeless either way. River took control of the city but soon left with her love Isabela on a pirate ship, and much like Varric, she was "sick of mages and templars."

My Hawke is a dick. He is aggressive, usually jumps straight to a fight whenever he can, and cares little for what is right or peaceful. However, he strongly cares for his family and friends (or rather rivals...everyone hates him). He will go out of his way to protect them, even if it means breaking the law.
Since he's a mage, I'm going to make him side with the mages. The only reason though is to protect Merrill, his love interest. Otherwise he hates the mages, every last one mainly due to the fact they all turn to blood magic.
Oh and he hates people.

I played a femHawke who slowly disintegrated through the game.
The Hawkes had spent a life on the run, so to her, home is where the heart is. She's sarcastic but well-meaning in the beginning, but as the game went on, it's like she became more... brittle. After her mother died, she ended up clinging to the two people she understood, and felt understood her, which were Varric and Anders, the LI. She stopped being as nice, being diplomatic, although she did relent a little for the Viscount, someone she actually felt she understood with constantly being harangued and leaned on, stretching themselves thin for the sake of other people. She was already a mage, but she began to resent the templars more and more (not always rationally); between Anders's rantings and the fact that the lone templar who had, in her mind, tried to catch the killer, had been murdered and ignored by the other templars, she just started falling down a black hole.
By the very end, she pretty much lost it. She managed to retain friendship with Aveline (and somehow with Fenris, lol) but when Anders went and blew up the Chantry, it was like all her gears broke. She spared him, pretty much wiped Kirkwall, and left with Anders, who she pretty much matched for broken insanity at that point.
Made doing the comparison between my Warden (femAmell) and my Hawke even more interesting, because in a lot of ways, they're the same person. Only Amell gained and Hawke lost.

My female rogue Hawke was a happy-go-lucky sort. She followed the humorous responses mostly, with diplomatic responses from time to time. Speaks her mind, light-hearted, and always looks for compromise. Everything she does is for the good of her family, so needless to say that any threats made to her sister or mother will most likely end with a fist in the face.
The Hawke I'm playing currently is a righteous two-handed warrior. Diplomatic and helpful responses when treated with courtesy, and aggressive hardface responses for the douches or for when he gets impatient. Like my Fem!Hawke, he's protective of his family, and won't have a second thought cutting down anyone who he's convinced is in the wrong. Only time will tell if he loosens up over the years (still in Act 1 with him).

I played a male rouge, who was mostly in it for the money. Friendly to all my companions. Friendly to all mages, and tried to stir up as much hate and hostility as I could towards every templar or chantry person I talked with.

My Arminel Hawke was a spacy, random lady mage. Cracking lame jokes and making the other characters groan with bad puns. Her best friends were Varric, Aveline and Isabella (Hedonist club wooo...and Aveline :3).
I mostly picked the funny options EXCEPT in certain cases. If her family was threatened, or mage rights were being questioned, she was pissed off. If she was talking to a fellow mage in trouble (even blood mages) she would try to be kind and helpful. Didn't always work out for her.
Didn't really care about doing what was right. Mostly she just did what made the most coin. Or what helped mages more.
Romanced Isabella. Wanted to slap her a few times. Now they are off having sexy pirate adventures.

My Hawke sounded like a dull shizo during the first chapter. I was so very annoyed at the poorly delivered lines by Nicholas Boulton. It wasn't until the second chapter that I stopped choosing Hawke's lines based on context and just kept choosing the diplomatic/friendly options over and over. Suddenly his delivery wasn't so jarring and shizophrenic, and I stopped being annoyed. Instead, I was annoyed at BioWare for forcing a one-dimensional personality on me.

My first Hawke was a sarcastic greedy rogue, with a heart of gold and a habit of speaking bluntly.
Second Hawke was a kind and merciful blood mage. Always willing to help, and forgive, anyone for anything. Currently on the run with Anders. I think this may be my import play through for DA3, provided we still have that option.

Basically, I just tried to play as a jerk. I wanted to be "evil," but there were zero options, so I just ended up being rude to people and telling them to get over it when somebody died. Eventually I got bored with the personality simulator and decided to just metagame everything so I could befriend the three people on my main team: Aveline, Varric, and Fenris. So basically I just became a liar and hypocrite who secretly wanted an opportunity to take power but never got it. Every decision turned into a matter of survival and avoiding open conflict with my companions. Except for Merrill... a mage should know better than to bargain with demons. There's no way to win, except in DA:O, when there actually was!
I slept with Isabela, then gave her to the Arishok when she betrayed me. I flirted with Anders to gain his loyalty, but dumped him as soon as I'd gotten enough "friendship points..." LOL... yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. I tend to go all out with rping, but really, this game had few options to do anything interesting or to alter Hawke in any way. The final straw was seeing Leliana alive during Sebastian's quest. At that point, I gave up on the story completely, because I knew that no matter what I was doing, it was going to be altered for the sequel.

my hawke was a sarcastic smartass most of the time, sometimes he was harsh or kind when called for. constantly making inappropriate jokes and comments.
some of my favorite moments was when i said something witty and aveline would just make a face and be like "not now hawke...."
i absolutely loved how he was a real character in the story and not just a blank vessel to control, and how you can change and morph his personality was brilliant. absolutely loved it.
