I felt Zevran's flirting betrayed those who romanced him and
successfully got him to love and the 'proposal', as I did. He didn't
even mention a relationship with the person who healed his heart and
taught him to love. I kind of thought that might have meant something to
him.
That was my reaction too.
I didn't mind him flirting, didn't even mind Isabella's episode, that's who Zevran is. But no hair or hide or mention of the warden who were in meaningful romantic relationship with him? It was a bit of a low blow.
It also puts me on guard for the upcoming sequels/games if they are to star the DA II protagonist (Hawke). I am uneasy about how they'll handle Hawke's current romantic partners for the future titles. I understand perfectly well that not all people enjoy playing romantic subplots. But there are a lot who do and for those of us those subplots were -meaningful- and to see them be swept under the rug like that is disheartening.

I miss the original voice for Keeper Marethari, she sounded so much better in DA:O. I also am kind of disappointed at the ending of DA2 where they say my warden disappeared. I mean why would my warden disappear if she didn't go through the Eluvian? I mean sure if those who played a male warden had a romance with Morrigan did, that ending makes sense. But if you're a female warden, had a romance with either Zevran or Leliana or even Alistair it makes no sense for your warden to just up and disappear like that.

He's not supposed to flirt nearly as much (if at all) if you imported a save in which the Warden romanced him. At least, that's what it says in this here Prima guide. I'm starting to wonder if it's a glitched flag or something.

Personally, I thought Alistair looked fine but it looked like he aged a bit badly. Guess the taint makes Grey Wardens age a bit badly I guess. Zevran looked alright with the new elf look but still looked a bit odd (mostly because I'm used to his old look in DAO). Nathaniel also looked like he aged a bit badly as well so I guess you can really say it is due to the taint.
Unless the taint is affecting Alistair's armor, too, he just looks bad. Not lore bad, not in character bad, just bad modelling and texturing. Compare his armor to Meredith's. They just slapped it together in an early build and left it that way.

But whether or not that's based on the game that was actually released or some preview, no one knows because there's no new toolset to look at the dialogue and see if there is actually anything more that can be said, or if the "I'm proposing to you Zevran" or the "With you to the end Zevran" or the "My Warden made the ultimate sacrifice and I'll never love again Zevran" was totally scrapped.
You shouldn't get the quest for him, if he's dead, but look for the quest giver Nuncio in the Red Lantern district during Act 3 to begin Murder of Crows, if you let him live.
PS. He and Alistair (heck, Teagan too) looked horrible, although I think Zevran got off easy compared to the other elves in the game (besides Fenris). Elf re-vamp aside, the difference in appearance could easily be attributed to different tribes of elves all over the freaking place - and it was dumb to do to for him to begin with, because you know the first thing people will do once they get the toolset is to give Alistair and Zevran their old faces, so they may as well have saved us the trouble. I held my hand over the screen while he was talking, it was just easier on my eyes that way.

The flags are purportedly glitched. If you use the console commands to "check the state of the world", it either comes up 'Player did not romance Zevran' or you get both 'Player did not romance Zevran' AND 'Player romanced Zevran', but the "did not" is overriding the did (and currently there's no way to fix it). The Prima guide supports this - saying specifically that Zevran will not flirt/bed Hawke if he's been romanced.

This so hard. Sometimes I wonder if they even bothered trying to import an Origins save and play all the way through, from all the freaking bugs there are.
I didn't even recognize Teagan until Alistair introduced him as such! When did he become a redhead?
As for Zev, was anyone else really grossed out by his animations (I won't even bother to mention his face)? The wobble of his head as he mock-bowed was just so unbearably... campy.

Alistair is not gonna appear in my game since I never made him king nor was interested in making him one. At least, it'd be nice if it was mentioned that he run off with my Amell instead of becoming a king. Didn't see Zevran and Leliana yet.

I'm kinda disappointed that Leliana didn't refer to my warden as her beloved/life partner. Just kinda referenced traveling with her when they were romancing one another.
Did you get her bit about th warden being very dear to her heart? If you didn't, then your import is bugged. But yeah, what's there is very vague and non-committal
With Leliana showing up (having left Orlais) around the same time Alistair talks about the hero of Ferelden arriving back in Denerim, my personal head canon just has them shacked up in Orlais together unless they're called on to do other stuff.

That makes me feel better, really. I didn't mind the flirting, my wardens would never expect him to stop that, it was the wanting to jump into bed with Hawke part that made me a little sad.
I also hate his new look, because the new elves are freaky, but I didn't hate how he looked nearly as much as I hated how Alistair looked. Leliana got hotter, though, so good for her!

I mean, the game takes place over such a long time span, and all these people just happen to all show up at the same time? Talk about weird coincidence.
Edit: Also the way Alistair's face seemed to have melted was...off-putting, though not unreasonable I suppose. Guess that ol' ball and chain really stressed him out over the years.

Nope didn't get the 'dear to my heart' from Leliana, I imported from Witch Hunt. Also I'd think they'd make Leliana say more than just 'dear to my heart'. I'd think she would say the warden was more to her than just that.

Yeah there's an import bug with Witch Hunt that's keeping Origins relationship flags from being read correctly.
But I agree, even with the correct romance dialogue my reaction was along the lines of "REALLY? THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?"
I'm hoping we get more than that in future installments. Not holding my breath though.

Seconding that sentiment. The cameos felt like Bioware was just trying to throw those of us who care about our previous games a bone. Not much satisfaction there. I used to be one of those who yearned for a continuation of the original characters/storylines, but honestly it's so pale every time they try, I've given up. When characters refer to past events I kind of just roll my eyes because it feels very cut and pasted in- nothing meaningful.
I mean seriously, Anders spent how many months running around with King Allistair's wife... not even a mention of that. Lame.

Leliana was nice to see and I liked at the end with Cassandra, that they're looking for Hawke and the Warden - perhaps Hawke pulled a Morrigan and went through Merrill's eluvian and the Warden somehow reactivated Morrigan's? But probably Flemeth just got them or something.
I laughed with the Alistair cameo, referring to my Cousland as the old ball and chain, considering that's what Anders called him in awakening.

I can understand that from a player perspective but how organic would it really feel to have a Leliana/Zevran/Alistair tell a complete stranger all about their passionate love for someone that stranger has never met? It's a bit personal. But I agree, even with the correct romance dialogue my reaction was along the lines of "REALLY? THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?"

I managed to see Alistair(with his uncle in tow), Leiliana(who I romanced in DA:O) and Zevran. Is there anyone else or is that it?
I got from Leiliana that her and the Warden were no longer together but that just seems a bit shi** to me lol. My epilogue from DA:O said they were wandering together or whatever so for them to split is a bit upsetting. I know people change and break up but I was content in the thought they were still an item. Who knows, maybe there will be a revisit where they can get together again.
