is there any way to backtrack in the plot storyline back to the beginning of act 3 but keep my character relativly the same. i honestly just want to get an item i hadnt found out about till after i had finished the quest. and i also went too far in the quest line to the point were i cant enter the gallows anymore or the final battle will begin.

can try the debug command
runscript zz_rdr start 3
not sure if it resets all the quest flags or just teleports you to the start of the act. Don't forget to have a save before you do this.
