Hi All:  Just asking is there a spell that turns extra items your character or group dont need into gold then throwing away?  I been watching the Warden Quest and I notice some players are throwing away stuff for more room in storage.    Plus is there a store at each map to sell your extra items?

No spell that does that. The proximity of shops to areas is probably very varying. Have a hard time imagining shops in the deep roads.

This isn't a monty haul lootfest game and the inventory is rather large, so I doubt there's a need.

Just out of curiousity, what game does have a spell that converts items to gold?

I think you'll have access to some sort of strong hold or something to store some equipment at.. but I'm not positive on that. If it's like most RPG's there never really any point to keeping an item unless it has a really high value for selling or trade. .. Unless you just like collecting items which you wouldn't trade for gold anyhoo.. I'm sure there will be plenty of money to be made within the game. In fact I can't think of any RPG's where I ended up broke.

Dungeon Siege 1 or 2, I think. Or another action-RPG like that. I know I've played at least one that converts items to gold.

Edit: Ninja'd.

Last time I checked King Midas won't be able to join your party.

If you get it for PC, you can go ahead and make a script mod for that. Personally I think that it would take away some from it, but you can play however you like if you want to make the mods in the Toolset.

Do we have any indications towards item/enchanting costs in DA:O?

Im just hoping vendors dont have limitless gold. A street merchant shouldnt be able to buy a +3 sword of dragonhumping for 30,000 coins (which no man could carry anyway)

Morrowind nailed this perfectly, merchants had set amounts of gold per day, and if you wanted to sell something really valuable you would have to barter and take items and gold for your trade, because the merchant didnt have enough gold alone for it.

LOL this isnt Diablo.  Don't expect t use some magic scroll and end up back at "town" to sell.  You'll need to make your way back to the overworld and even then there's a chance at an encounter.

I'm pretty sure one of the Might&Magic games has this, too. Either 6 or 7. Or both, it's been a while.
