I've heard people go on and on about Kaedrin and have had numerous requests that The Wizard's Apprentice be compatible, and now I understand why. Itis amazing! It almost feels like a new game.
Just started playing with Kaedrin's-- AMAZING!

Yeah, i like his classes better than the official ones. They should have hired him to do the classes in SOZ.

I really like the Deep Imaskari race. If you want to be a truly formitable wizard, you always had to choose sun elf, but now you can choose to be a human. The -2 dexterity is a bit of a drag, but the extra constitution points are nice for a caster. I always felt that gnomes should have +2 intelligence, since they are always tinkering with things.

In BG2 (or was it in NWN1?) they had a bonus to Intelligence and a penalty to Wisdom.
And yes, Kaedrin's great, and it also fixes a lot of bugs, so it's usually good to have it even if you don't use the new content.

Unfortunately, I can't play with Kaedrin's due to not owning SoZ. However, it *does* add a lot of fixes and additions. The only issue I have with it is compatability with other packs and, from a builder's perspective, any custom changes you want to make (or you don't want it to make). That's really an issue with a large swathe of custom content, however, rather than something specific to Kaedrin's.

I really cannot imagine not having SoZ...

Maybe we should take up a "Get The Fred SoZ Fund" or something. Quick everybody donate 2 cents. Should have it in no time.

20 bucks on steam, and you get a new copy of the OC, MOTB and SOZ all at once.
Not having all the expansions makes quite a few things have issues, i know players can't take some of kaedrins custom classes without having all the expansions, i think the game thinks they are content from SOZ or somesuch.

Before I got SOZ, I used to have some problems with urinary incontinence, but now that I have XP2 I can hold it all day long!

Heheh, buying SoZ (and MotB) is something I keep meaning to do, it's just procrastination really - though I do feel that I shouldn't have to get it just to play custom classes. This is indeed an engine issue, in that all but one of the lines in the classes.2da which actually work but aren't for core classes are reserved for SoZ. This means I can't even play classes I made myself beyond one (and to test I have to change the line order in the 2da!).

While i agree, if you spend as much time as we do playing one game, it's only fair to recompense those who made, especially since patch 1.23 would not exist if not for SOZ. They gave us quite a bit for nothing in return ( if you just look at the features they did on kaedrins requests ), and really earned us paying 20 bucks again to have every version. I hope if we keep buying it that it allows the folks at obsidian to release that 1.24 patch they partially completed, even though that might be wishful thinking.
They really should have been not as nice and said the downloader was a feature of SOZ, but most content creators like me kind of feel like it's too hard to support every possible variation, and the non full suite has more issues.

I'm more than for paying to support the devs and to get new features (which is why I will get both the expansions, when I ever feel I actually have the spare time to play them - and can find somewhere selling them), the only thing which annoys me is that updating to v1.23 actually removed the ability for me to play custom classes. That's actually restrictive and you really shouldn't have to buy an expansion to get something which you used to have for free - it's like an MMO which charges extra for certain features suddenly saying that the next feature they'll be selling is not having half your in-game goods and levels taken off you and if I thought they'd done it deliberately I'd say it was really bad form and really scummy of them.
That aside, SoZ is really cool, and so is Kaedrin's (always like to finish on a good note).
