So I like to ask stupid questions, sorry.
How do I make her stay without touching her in places? Can you just get her friendship level up (and what do I say to do this) and then let her have the stupid book?

AFAIK, the three requirements are:
* Friendship or Rivalry over 50% before the last quest arc of Act 2 begins.
* When Aveline and Isabela are both asking you at the same time to do something, do Isabela's quest first.
* When the dialogue option comes up outside the warehouse, tell Isabela that 'No, we're giving the book back to the Arishok!'. She'll still run, but if you've hit all three items on this list, she'll come back.
Intimate touching is not required: I was doing a 100% Merrill romance and still got her Big Damn Heroes re-entry.

Oh thank god. She's a great character and I was angry when she left.
