Any assistance or comments, Bioware?

I have already answered this, and the software here threw the post away.

"Dragon Age II PC Technical Self Help.   This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age II on PC to assist each other with technical questions and advice.  Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts at the link at the bottom of the page.Fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here."

No bioware presence at all.  Waste of time trying to contact someone who isn't here.

In short, if you have speakers, like headphones or stereo speaker, surround, sound, etc... anything but a SINGLE speaker, you may encounter this issue if you do not force stereo on. Mine does it if I use the pin plug speakers that actually go in the audio out jacks, but does not if I either force stereo on, or use USB speakers.

Hey guys. I think I may have found the thing that is causing this issue with the game.

Hardware.

I received this message from Michotic, who had the same problem as all of us (probably not the people who had the "Force Stereo" problem or for that matter probably not any stereo related issue, but you never know).

"Ahoy there, fellow DA Player!

I'm having some problems being able to post on the forums, so hopefully this PM will go through. This is about the skipping cutscenes in DA2.

I've done a bit of digging, and I have been informed that it is possible your system does not meet the minimum requirements to run DA2.

If one or more of your hardware isn't up to the task, the game 'hiccups'. In an effort to catch up, it sometimes zips past the dialogue.

I'm not sure if this is the problem everyone is having, but after double checking my system specs, it turns out I'm a bit behind on hardware, and this could be causing the issue (I can't think of anything else that may be doing it).

Hopefully this helps you and everyone else that has posted in the thread.

Good hunting!"

Your hardware, specifically your graphics card may be causing the issue.

I have 6 gigs of RAM, Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz and I have this problem...I have also have an ATI Radeon 5450, which is VERY cruddy, to be honest.

Another problem I could have is my BIOS. It seems to require some updates.

So please, if any of you are stilling hanging around this thread, please post your computer specs, and maybe somebody will be able to determine if your computer meets the requirements for Dragon Age 2.

Update!

I've discovered kind of another fix for this issue.

How much power is going toward your Dragon Age 2 game.

When you start up DA2, alt tab out of the game, open task manager, find dragon age 2, right click, and set the priority to HIGH.

This certainly does help the game, for me at least. The skip may still happen to you from time to time, however. I haven't been getting any banter skips, either.

Another helper to use with the priority is setting your affinity core. I have Core 0, 1, 2 and 3 on. Try a set that makes your game run smoother.

I think turning off fullscreen helps somewhat, also.

Still looking for more solutions.
