I think Fenris and Isabella are technically secret companions as you can miss getting them.

That just makes them missable companions.

There is no Secret companion in DA2

There's also your sibling. The one that lives. They come back at the end to help you should they get recruited to other "service branches".

Loghain was hardly a secret. He simply was a replacement for Alistair. Optional Character is a more proper name.

It's your grey warden sibling for act 3. As far as I can tell. Fenris and Isabela are put into your journal to allow you to recruit. Your sibling on the other hand will die in the deep roads unless you have Anders is with you.

That's true. It was a nice surprise.

I'd hardly call Isabela "missable" since to miss her you'd have to somehow NEVER enter the Hanging Man once you've recruited Anders. And, I don't think that's actually possible to do if you want to move the story forward.

Fenris, on the other hand, is truly missable. All you have to do is not respond to the letter, or turn the Dwarf down. Easy to do by accident since there's no implication that you're getting a companion.

Or if you don't take them with you. Then they become a templar or a circle mage, respectively.

Apparently there is because I had Zevran fighting with me in the last battle. I saw something green and lo and behold there is Zev sticking a Templar in the Merideth fight. He was nowhere to be found afterwards though.
