I want something akin to origins where you explore the romance over several dialogues and ease into it. It shouldn't be:

Step 1: Flirt (optional)
Step 2: Confess feelings and have sex right then and there.
Step 2b: Move in together (optional)

I mean what the hell, is Hawke 13?

Let's not forget the time span of the games. Yes you can flirt with your companions right away, but by the time you confess your feeling and fall into bed, it's been three years. We might not see those three years, but that doesn't mean Hawke and his LI completely cut ties. It's likely (even confirmed in some dialogues) they interacted with each other in the interim. We just don't see all those moments, so it feels a little rushed. Likewise, by the time Hawke and his LI move in together, it's been another few years. So really, you could argue this relationship moves slower than many real life counterpoints.

That being said, I'm always up for more content that continues characterization. My favorite thing about BioWare games are the companions, be them love interests or just hangers-on. I feel like every time a new game is released, people ask for this type of DLC. We still haven't really seen it delivered, and I don't think it will be. I think the best we could hope for is something like Lair of the Shadow Broker, which has it's own story and also helps expand upon characterization.

Actually, I really liked LOTSB. Even without romancing Liara, it was great to catch up with her and expand upon her character. I'd be down for something like this for Dragon Age 2, ideally with Anders given what he did. Though since he can die, this is a longshot, I know.

As much as I'd love to see some DLC that expands on romances (or at the very least expands on companions, maybe what they did during some of the time jumps? They had to keep themselves occupied), it seems like there's going to be a DA3 on the way. Starring Hawke, unless I'm completely off my mark. In that case, I imagine it'll be a bit like ME3--you keep the companions that survived, and your decisions directly effect the outcome of the next game. Therefore, we're likely to see more romance sometime in the future.

... admittedly, I'd rather not have to wait a year or two. ;_;

I'd hold off on that back stabber isabella being there forever.

I wanted to rip her apart after the fade

Her life was pretty much on the line. Chill with the haterade. if you know how to lay it on like a stud she'll be back with does in each eye. Then you get to fight for her.

Novel romance. Such a cliche. tch.

If we get DLC that expands on friendships / romances etc, I'd really like to see more gifts. Half the party only had one gift item in the game, the others got two. I found that disappointing and would have liked there to be at least two gifts for everyone. So, more opportunities to give gifts in DLC, please!

I would not buy this or possibly any DLC that does not allow us to romance Aveline. I just found out today that this was not possible. I am baffled by this given the absolutely perfect setup for her to become a romance option. Others have stated that her story(which I have not finished) wraps up well with her getting married. I think this just further illustrates how perfectly a romance in which you help her through the grieving process and become romantic with her would work. Why wouldn't Bioware allow the player to do that when they have set it up so perfectly? While I support all the other romances, I personally have no interest in either Isabella or Merrill so while I support the idea of romance DLC, I wouldn't buy it without Aveline.

If you read the codex entries for the characters, there's a lot more backstory on what happens in the relationship between acts. The issue with this is that not everyone reads the codex.

From a storytelling standpoint, it makes sense that we wouldn't see everything that went on between characters. Varric's the one telling this story, and unless he was hiding outside Hawke's window taking notes he might not know all of the details about what goes on between Hawke and their LI.

If we got an expanded romance DLC, I'd actually like to have the LI telling their version of events. That book Cassandra had showed everyone in Hawke's party, and she's still continuing her investigation.

I'd love expanded romances. More deep, emotional conversations! More revelations of personal secrets. And more humour, of course. More of all aspects of a relationship.

I would love to see an extension that contains elements of further LI! I dont think we will ever see one that is just about LI's but having something that includes a wedding, or futher steps in the romance would be brilliant - please Bioware

*Signed!* Need longer more involved romance scenes! Also being able to go back and simply kiss your companion or get back into is a great option. I have been very disappointed in Bioware increasingly becoming sloppy or prude as their games progress in regards to char romances. I love how their games continue to improve but don't loose the wonderful interaction between the heros and their companions. It's one of the things that make bioware games stand apart from other games.

-The ability to kiss your LI whenever
-The ability to sleep with your LI whenever (just a kiss and a fade to black! That's all I want!)
-More conversations (less "ohhh mann plot relevent angsttt" and more "have YOU ever licked a lamppost in winter? ;)")

Heck yes! I would pawn something if I had to in order to buy this. Make it-make it-make it!
I too miss that tent! And the wonderful cuddles.

I would sell my soul for a romance DLC. Seriously, Bioware, I will wrap it up in a little box with ribbons and mail it to you and then I'll just be a soulless person sitting there and playing that DLC forever. ...That is to say, I would really enjoy a romance DLC.

I would buy it without hesitation. The relationship, with it's TWO encounters, was really unsatisfying. I absolutely adored Anders so this was a big disappointment.

Agreed The romances seemed uninspired and fell flat because of this.  Aftoer Origins its like they quit trying to measure up and The LI's were awesome but the romances themselves were poorly executed.  As someone else said Hawke got to know them but we did not.

I miss after an intense battle my pc kissing her LI anywhere.  In DAO my pc was always kissing Zevran everywhere.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it.  We would like to know when everyone leaves Hawke and what happened in the period between the end and Varric getting interrogated.  With extra gifts to find, more LI banter, and more romance.  Someone on the thread said DA3 will not be about Hawke (although it would be interesting to see your character pop up somewhere).  There was no link or quote but it would fit the modus operandi of Bioware.

But the story, for all of its glory, has that unfinished feel.  We never got to know the aftermath.  Perhaps that part will be the opening for DA3 followed by someone else's story, but I would really love to see the romance DLC as well where all you sacrificed to gain your LI finally pays off.  Oh Bioware, if we send you cookies can we have it?  (Or I have some tiger's eye fragments and torn trousers you can have!  XD)

Won't pay for it so make it a patch unless it includes at least 6 or 7 hours of extra romance related quests plus hard evil mother****er at the end to kill.

Just sayin'

I vote for Romance DLC. The thing that got me interested in playing this game was the romances. I'd love to seem them expanded upon. Hawke and his LI need more screen time in my game.

How about making home more like something from other games, a place to interact, especially with your LI. Add a couple of good taverns and actually let us "woohoo" with said LI at home (theirs or ours) if we want. Have them invite us out or to their house occasionally in party banter too. Don't nee a whole DLC for it if it's in the game so I hope we get some of that on DA3.

As for a DA2 DLC pack, you bet. Why wouldn't Hawke and company want a holiday or at least a hunting or camping trip with minimal combat and abundant loving.

I doubt they will do something like this, but a DLC with more focus on the romances and just the relationships with companions would be very nice.

I like the thought of minimal combat.  Maybe more of a mystery type quest?  I guess throw in a few puzzles, even though I hate puzzles (I never bother trying to solve them; I just look them up online).  And lots of opportunities to talk to your various party members, including, of course, the love interest.

Yeah, the gang go on holiday somewhere, and encounter a mysterious ... er, something...

Too bad only about 20% of the fandom would buy this lol but damn it, we'd love it!

Yeah, that's the thing with DA2.  You get these sudden advances into the future and you're like, wtf just happened in the last 1/2 decade?!?  In that time, yes, a relationship would have emerged, but we don't see that.  Thus the emotional disconnect.  I mean, for my Hawke, she basically was being ticked off at Anders for flippantly ignoring her (each time one clicked on him), wanting, but never really getting any sort of relationship.  Then boom, it's the bedroom scene.  Huh?

I doubt we'd see a romance pack but I'd sure love one if done well.  But please no G-rated derpiness.  Make it serious and not out of a page of a pre-teen novel.

Well, seeing as they partner with EA, perhaps a Sims - The Dragon Age game where we could play all our DA favorites as sims - just loose the EA censor blur please - from there modders can take it from Teen to Mature rating :)

But the Sims has no narrative ... I can already make sims that look like DA character =\\  I think we're all basically looking for an extension of the romance narrative here.
