So we all know that The Veil is what seperates The Fade from the real world, but I'm curious about one thing,

If the veil is weakened when there is alot of death, and magic usage, shouldn't the veil be very thin/weak around Kirkwall? Since alot of people died during the battle, and so much magic was used.

Apparently, the veil in Kirkwall is already thin before all the fighting in DA2 goes down, and that's one reason why all the demon summoning and blood magic is so prevalent.

Its mentioned in the game several times. The most significant reference is a Band of Three codex page that talks of thousands of slaves being killed.

Well.. if you think about it.. this was a place people were sent as slaves to die as they worked ruled over mages by Imperium mages who are known not to "hold back" on the magic.. it also explains why cornered mages go abomination so easily.

Really.. This place should have never been allowed a circle.

considering it was built by dwarfs working for the tevinter, mages who control all with blood magic and demons, i'd say the veil should be weak there

If you ask me, between what we know happened with slaves and what the Band of Three have uncovered, yeah. No magic person should be in that cursed city. Problem is, they seem to have like three times as many mages as anywhere else, from how many you run into.

With all that happened during the Qunari attack and the MAge/Templar fight, yeah. I would not want to live there. Way too much Veil thinning. It's like a hole in the ozone, except Thedas doesn't has magic sunscreen.
