Mine has to be when Anders blew the fade out of the chantry building. I didn't expect anders to set something like the maker himself bring his wraith down, i thought he wanted some type of blood or some thing

The Qunari invasion. Since I was in a relationship with Isabela I was a bit heartbroken when she let, then she reappear right during the meeting with the Arishok. Unlike the Templar-mage war of act 3 I felt that this was truly unavoidable and could finally get a nice Qunari head trophy for my fireplace mantle.

Anders' craziness actually made my heart sink--such a change from the way he was in Awakening. My favorite moment would be Alistair and Teagan's visit.

Sadly, the ingredients he asked for screamed "bomb!", so I was sort of expecting it. Was still a great moment.

Other great moments are when Meredith shows her humanity as she answers Orsino's accusations of her being a tyrant with this anguished cry about how she KNOWS what she's doing is HORRIBLE, but she SEES NO OTHER WAY. And, btw, do either the Champion or Orsino have a better answer? The dialog choices you make after her statement show that neither the Champion or Orsino do. That moment really helped to show Meredith as more than just this one-dimensional "mages must be controlled" character.

Leandra's death, of course.

Pretty much every conversation with the Arishok. Too bad we couldn't be best buds. I was so sad that I had to kill him.

Probably when the Arishok decided to go loco and attack the city, and then Isabela stepped on a Quinari. lol.

This. Basically every Meredith scene, even up till the end. I especially liked her story of why she became a  Templar, made you understand her alot better.

For me, it was Idunna almost mind-controlling Hawke into slashing her own throat, but Hawke throws the blood magic off through sheer will. For extra awesome, I had Bethany with my warrior Hawke during that scene and my wonderful baby sister saved my hide for me. :)

Right after defeating the Arishok with a mage!Hawke, after everyone has seen you use magic, there's a moment when they all just stare at you...then slowly break into applause. Meredith even sheathes her sword.

It's probably the same scene for any Hawke, but with a mage it's just...beauty. :')

Too many. My personal favorites (in no specific order):

1.) The one on one duel with the Arishok for Isabel's life. You appreciate much more when she comes back with the book, when she's your LI, & when you remember how she says she "Loves duels" because it's her thing.

2.) Blowing up the Chantry. Holy smokes.

3.) Witnessing your mother dying was absolutely one of my favorite moments, even if it was gut wrenching. Something about that scene touched me, as I'm sure it did for most players (from what I've read).

4.) Isabela tearing down her emotional walls and admitting how hard she had fallen for you. It made NOT sleeping with Merill or the Blooming Rose 'Courtesans' more gratifying.

There are more but I'm too tired to think of any. Ha.

Ditto on all counts! I miss the old Anders. I liked him so much in Awakening because he was fond of jokes and sarcasm and he had a great personality. "Hey, I'm fond of the Howes! I'm also fond of the Whys, the Whos, and the Whats!" I miss THAT Anders, not this angst-fountain who made me stare at the screen, eyes watering as I choked out "My God, what have you DONE?! I was trying to make this BETTER, you JERK!"

I'd spent the whole game hoping he'd return to his old self, but when the big explosion came... I knew there wasn't any hope left. And that was when I gave up on DA2 ending satisfactorily.

That said, I was delighted the most by Alistair and Teagan's visit, as Adynata said. I wasn't happy that Alistair looks so fugly now, but oh well! I was also greatly pleased by Cullen's more important role. I'm quite fond of Cullen.

But my favorite, FAVORITE moment is in the Deep Roads, when Varric says "When I find that son of a b****--sorry, Mother--I'm going to kill him!!" His VA didn't even break the pace of that line. :D

Would Sandal's prophecy count. Because I was stunned when he started speaking like he was Nostradamus

Killing Hybris once I figured out what the hell he was doing with that gravity well power. Destroying him and his army of rage demons was very satisfying.

Actually, no... that one was good, but the fight with the Ancient Rock Wraith was better. Second attempt, and that thing still had like 75% of it's health when it killed both Carver and Anders. It was Mage Hawke and Varric against the Wraith and an army of shades. Damn it was brutal, but we pulled it off... easily one of the best fights in the game, if not THE best. At that point I stopped underestimating Varric and put him on my team permanently.

Yeah, I liked the combat far more than the story. The battles had more impact than the plot, but that's just my opinion. If I had to pick something from the story... eh... I'd say, when Carver returned to aid me right before the ending... the Hawke brothers, together again! Hehe... Carver was awesome.

The whole build up and final quests of Act II. That was just really well handled IMO. The best of the three acts in terms of tension/story.

Also, Bethany rejoining the party for the last mission in Act III as a Grey Warden. That was a nice touch, although I do wish it had happened sooner.

Well, that and Varric's quest where he exaggerates what happens when they go searching for his brother. That was awesome. I think that was the part that made me laugh the most.

Blood mage in brothel.

Hawke breaking away from the control was utterly badass.

It has to be the all too brief run-ins you have with the Arishok. The new look of the Qunari, their alien philosophy and way of organizing their society are by far the most interesting concepts in the game.

I'm glad the way the Qunari answer didn't change. I almost died laughing when the Arishok said "No" with a Sten like expression on his face

When Meredith finally died. Oh, and when I killed Fenris
