Thread necromancy or not the combat in the pit fight puts DA2 combat vogueing to shame, you can almost hear the grunts of exertion and feel the weight of the blows. Origins didn't get it spot on but Wardens Fall bloody did in spades.
I wish Dragon Age 2 was as epic as this...

...So as you can clearly see, DA engine can't possibly handle more than 10 npcs is the same room.

Awesome find, I'm glad this got necrobumped since I missed it the first time. Gotta love good fan creations; they really care about every single last detail.

The truth is there for everyone to behold. The crowded room this video tries to come up with leads to horrible texture glitches, framerate drops steeper than the price of meat in vegetarian lands and and crashes to desktops.

If that's your attempt to be funny, then...I laugh. Stow it dude, you don't have to jump at every opportunity to defend DA2.
BTW, is criticising the DAO engine to "prove" why DA2 had to be made boring, like, the cool thing to do nowadays? Your criticism makes no sense; DA2 had a different, updated engine.

Wow I didn't know these even existed. On the one hand the character generator needed some serious tweaks, on the other hand it really shows what a skilled production team can do with the tools of the first game. It is really telling that they can do with those tools what Bioware can't... guess it is not the engine's fault after all, but the lack of talent within Bioware.
The team that made DA2 is really Bioware's C team, good god.

Yes I was jesting. All the better if I made you laugh. I aim to please, among other things.
Now.
Updated is the keyword here. This video clearly shows that DA:O's engine can handle a fairly large crowd quite easily. Thus, its updated version should too because if you update an engine, you improve it : When an engine can handle multiple npc's, when you update this engine, you don't remove the engine's ability to do so (unless you're as stupid as good ol' Bohort who does nothing save sh!t and eat.)
My point ?

These were always awesome, watch episode 1 for a great death scene (even better than Landra's). I wish they had continued this series.

Machinima knew how to use the DAO engine better than Bioware themselves.
