I believe 41 dex is the highest req for the best dagger
What I like to do, is lvl Dex and Cun equally untill both are 41, then I'll spam Cun.
Especially if youre Assassin, you will get far more benefit from Cun than Dex

41 Dexterity for weapons
32 Dex/Cun for Armor. However, you need 40 Cunning before any bonuses to open Master (?) locks I believe. I got to 41 Dexterity, then went 2 Cunning and 1 Con for pretty much the remainder of my levels. You may only need 34 Dexterity if Rune of Valiance helps gear checks.

Depending on your skillset you may, or may not, want to put points in Willpower.
If you take Followtrough from Scoundrel, and Bloodlust from Assassin, you probably wont have to lvl up Willpower.
Your Constition will most likely be based on your difficulty.
The higher difficulty, the higher Con.
However I dont know any good exact numbers, and I guess its all about being able to survive more than one hit

Why Cunning is more important than Dex? I thought cun is for defense, dex determine rouge damage?
I'm building a rouge for my second play through, want to know more.

Dexterity increases your crit chance and attack chance, special attacks almost always hit, and with upgrades, will always crit, so all dex does is increase your base damage.
Cunning increases your critical damage and defense, and some say its better than dex once you meet your equipment requirements.

With the right talents the only real benefit from Dex is slightly more dmg.
With 100%ish crit chance, Cunning is 1% more dmg each points, where as Dex is a set amount(not sure how much)
And with Devious Harm from Assassination, that one point of Cunning is worth 2% dmg.
That is ofcourse if you have 100% crit which can be gotten thru various of talents

For the best weapon you need 42 Dex and NOT 41.
40 Cunning is a must for lockpicking on master level.

This is one of the major flaws in this game in my opinion aswell. Because of lockpicking you simply are forced to dump so much points in cunning, paired with the 42 Dex for best weapons and 32(?) Con for best armor, leaves you ample of points to increase your Willpower/stamina. (byebye sustained modes)
I haven't played rogue yet, but looking at this attribute setup, is it even viable to play one on higher modes WITHOUT having Follow-Through? (Scoundrel tree, stamina regen on hit talent).

Not sure TBH but you might be able to get by with running speed mode, more hits = more Stamina regenerated, though it comes down to what abillitys your using really.

"Rogue" armor is based on DEX and CUN. You would only need CON if you want to wear "Warrior" armor. The quotes are because they're not class specific, just stat-specific. But after re-reading, maybe that was just a typo, in which case please ignore meCeranil wrote...

Whoops, you got me there actually. For some reason I was thinking rogue armor required Dex/Con where warriors have Str/Con, but it's Dex/Cun indeed. My bad
