I'm with the none. Release the game completed. I don't lease video games. LOL

You'd prefer they simply leave the game in development indefinetely while new ideas are daily formed? The concept is similar to an MMO, once they have a finished package released, they can now expand upon it for you to enjoy. You are getting a "completed" game, bu it does not mean creative thinking and concepts should never be brought forward.

i'd like a similarly completed expansion pack. one that offers a whole other campaign, much the way expansion have been done in the past.

i am hugely against this whole online distribution thing. i want physical copies of my games, and their additions.

i dont really see how it is the people are so easily swayed away from this towards online distribution. it's not like new content wont be available. it'll just be available in the same way it was before. just the way they are doing it now, you'll actually end up paying a lot more for it when all is said and done.

If you want to wait for a DLC compilation bundle or game-of-the-year edition, that's cool*. In the meanwhile, you might as well let us know what you'd like to see, though.

I'd like to see a medium-sized dungeon crawl a la Icewind Dale.**

* If playing on a console, you may not have a choice but to wait. That's still to be confirmed, I think.

** Deja vu? Me tu!

if they sold a physical copy, id like to see an added campaign or adventure. dungeon crawl, or what have you. anything like that would be nice. then, new spells and/or abilities added for the play through would be great.

but only if i could buy a single physical copy.

im not terribly interested in seeing a whole lot of customization in the character. the NPS wont react to it too much, and this is not a multiplayer game, so it servers very limited functionality.

No, finish it and release it.

If they want to add a $20 expansion, Ill think about it. DLC is an excuse to charge $10 for $3 worth of product.

Not to mention the medium: servers don't last forever. And indy game studios don't survive long in the belly of EA. 5 years from now when EA's gutted the talent out of Bio to make art for FIFA 2014 and spit out the rest, who's going to run the dl servers? It's hard enough to find expansions for old video games when they're published expansions. A DRM'd 300 meg download will be lost in the ether forever.

well EA just made the bioware execs a position for oversight of Mythic Entertainment so I don't think they are gutting bioware any time soon. They are pretty much heading up a whole sector of EA game development!

To keep a game fresh it needs constant updates. Expansion packs bring a game up to date a year or two later, but DLC combined with player made content might give this game more longevity. I'd rather see a whole new Dragon Age title in three years than boxed expansion packs.

I do also agree that DLC content should not be trivial crap like a new cloak or a yellow jumpsuit.

just hope they have better dlc then they did for mass effect. i remember when they said they would have tons of dlc for that to continue the story from one game to another. got a 3 hour mission months later. and a shooting gallery a year and a half later.

get over yourself, there are plenty of people willing to buy extra dlc. if you dont want any just dont get it, the base game is "completed", they are just adding extra. (with over 80 hours already in the game, and you dont think its finished? that is more than any other rpg i have ever played)

both dcl were top notch for what they were. just not excatly what i had hoped for when they talked up the dlc before the game came out. hopefully there will be more of it, on this one.

On the topic of new origins: from what they've said, dialogue differs too much between origins to expect new ones to happen in DLCs. I'd only hold out hope for a new origin appearing if they announce a full-sized expansion.

As for what I'd like to see, I'd like to see more specializations, particularly ones that support gameplay styles that aren't currently supported by the specializations we currently have. For instance, I'd really like a mage specialization that's focused on the 'blaster mage' kind of character. So far, mages have two melee specializations, one healing one, and Blood Magic, which is kind of all over the place in what it can do.

I would prefer campaign dlc-s, one for elves, to have an elven noble background where you might be one of the last few with some ancient bloodline of the past,

and another one in where you get a piece of lands/woods/mountains where a noble could build a castle or city and decide political, construction and trade decisions, ofcourse depending on race and alliances there could be extra buildings or npc guard variants

a dungeon, something in the likes of Durlag's tower and watchers keep. great puzzles, great battles and awesome artifacts to hunt for.

not to mention something as challenging as Aec'letec and Demogorgon.

Bite me.  Your gaming hurts my gaming.  Why work on and release a $20 ToB when they can do the same work and release 10 $10 DLCs.

As per the longevity of Bio under EA - Origins was a lot meatier than Bio will ever be.  DA:O's been done for 9 months, our copies are literally sitting in a FedEx depot, and review copies were mailed out weeks ago - and there hasn't been a single leak?  The Sims 3 leaked two months before it was released.  When the KOTOR MMO becomes the next SWG - Bio is going to fall woefully short of EA standards.  Origins defined the Action RPG until Diablo/BG, dominated the Flight Sim market, introduced FMV in video games and invented the MMO.  Where are they now?  Producing crappy B-grade act flicks!

no point hating dlc. its here to stay thats for sure. companies make way to much money and without having to wait to compile a large amount of new content to box as a full blown expansion.

as to the implication that bioware will be disolved by ea. unlikely in the near future unless their games just start bombing. then again if you were a shareholder of ea. you might care about your money too. oh and i doubt swtor will fail. might not kill wow but im sure it will make ea plently of money (just so ya know swg makes plently of money too)

New hair styles, and an expansion or stuff like Keep and Golem.

And NO item packs please! Just introduce them in with the other DLC quests, expansion, etc...

Really, I would prefer the content to be expansive. The same level that Shivering Isles was initially. The whole "Smaller, more frequent chunks of content" hasn't really worked so far outside of the adventure games like the Monkey Island™ series. Half-Life 2 has failed in that attempt, and unfortunately so did the SiN Episodes.

When I look for new content for a game, I want to be investing in a good month of game time, not a simple three-hour jaunt ah-la Operation Anchorage.

The ability to train a baby dragon, that when it matures can be called into fight when having epic battles out in the open.
I don't care about anything else. That is all I want.

Edit: Er actually, there is one more thing. Biefstukfriet mentioned the player keep like in BG. I also like the keep in NWN2, so that would be really cool.  Having to set up defences and recruitment and structures through talking to people, rather than building, was just so satisfying.

What are you talking about there hasn't been a leak? Have you seen the thread on the person who already has the game on here? Also there is another person streaming as he plays on another site. So no leak MY A**!

Human Commoner would be nice, but unlikely. Another round of romances, either with current or new romance options,

Origins are too much to ask for. Just way too much work involved. Dialogue, voice acting, cinematic scenes, etc. They won't do it.

Anyhow:

More romance options: Specifically for elves. Elves who take humans for partners are seen as traitors, so why would my hardcore Dalish elf touch a human? Elven female please.

More specializations: Even if its just one more for each class.

Chapters leading up to the next game: There's gonna be a sequel, and the trend in gaming (Mass Effect 2, Fable 3) is to draw off previous games in the trilogy (or however long it is). Assuming my character doesn't die that is. Release a series of chapters that act as a bridge between this game and the next. Mini-expansion packs that give me a solid amount of gameplay that still impact my character, as well as perhaps lifting level caps.

Free quests, spells, etc: Just sprinkle this stuff in randomly to make me feel better about buying stuff, please. Sorta as a reward to your loyal fanbase.

Potential future DLC? Hmm...

Perhaps a series of missions that involve reuniting Sten with the rest of the qunari and getting a deeper understanding of them (unless that's already in the game as Sten's NPC side quest).
