DAMMT v0.1.0.0
http://social.bioware.com/project/598/

After burning the mid night oil for several days and putting in a lot of planning for the future of the tool. I have decided to go ahead and release v0.1.0.0 of the tool.

This could be considered more of a beta release of the Dragon Age Mod Manager Tool then anything else. It has all the basic features and functions needed with the only missing part being the ability to uninstall mods. I am still working out all the details on how to do this and make it a safe process so that there is little chance of it messing with anything other then the installed mods.

Currently all of the mods listing within the DAMMT is hosted on our own dedicated servers. This may or may not change in the future depending on a lot of different factors. This does allow us to provide a fast consistent download speed.

If you are a mod author and you would like to see your mod hosted within DAMMT send me a message here on the social network and I can get you setup with an ftp account where you can upload your mod and update it as needed.  As it stands right now I have been manually uploading mods into the system and making sure they meet a few modding standards. (File(s) are in .zip format, All of your mods files fall within a subfolder as not to clutter up the override folder)

I have the designed the tool in such a way that Authors can display as much or as little information they want about there mods. This includes adding pictures to be displayed within the tool, version number, ect.

DAMMT handles all the downloading, extracting, and keeping track of what mods you have. (Please note DAMMT downloads & extracts all files into the location you set within the Settings Panel. I recommend using the override directory within your games install folder as per the example shown on the Settings Panel. But you can also use your \\\\Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\packages\\\\core\\\\override folder also. Both locations provide the same effect in-game as per the wiki)

If you have any comments, suggestions, ideas, ect. or just want to provide feedback just drop a post here or on the project page or just send me a message.

Mod Authors just shoot me a message and I can set you up with a FTP account on the servers for hosting your mod.

I have made the file open for everyone to download. Seems I missed that small bit when putting the file in the projects section.

The tool is still a little rough around the edges by over the next week or two that will be cleaned up a lot. So expect to see a lot of polish and minor tweaks over the next few days.

The next release should have support for installing .dazip modules. Though its just going to be a download the .dazip file and then call daupdater.exe afterwards.

Thank you for the kind words.

I have been thinking about changing the Mod listing to something more like
http://www.smart-mod...arge/normal.png

My only issue with that is, that it may not be overly easily to go through a huge listing of mods with a picture layout like that.

Thats to Joshua Raven an his expert web design skills the Mod information area is getting a nice layout change for the better.

It allows for a lot more information to be displayed on each mod and since authors that use DAMMT have full control over the look, layout, feel, ect (the mod information area is just a inlaid web browser built into DAMMT) each mod has a chance to have a custom tailored look.

This is just one example of what authors can come up. (Though it is unreasionable to ask every author to have website design skills so templates will be provided for authors that just want to get something easy to use and work with.)

this is excellent news...a mod managing kit for dragon age origins is a godsend for those of us who use mods excessively with any given game...

i have a few suggestions for you to think about or requests if you like:

1) make it so the program can tell if the mod will override original game content

2) so it can detect whether a given mod will work (or not) seemlessly with other mods

3) you already have this (im just stating it for emfasis) version # display and Information from mods

4) the ability to delete or better yet turn on/off individual mods

5) the ability to find out how one mod will not work with another mod, perhaps some kind of scan tool allowing modders and mod users alike to trouble shoot mod design for cleaner integration between mods - original game - DLC content - expantions

thats it for now i guess, anyways thanks again for starting this project. :wizard:

Probably... I hadn't heard anything about it in ages.

The two main ones I know of are these:
DAModder.
DAO-Modmanager.
