In Jade Empire, I didn't get to end up with both Silk Fox and Dawn Star because I was female. Fine.

In DA:O, I couldn't have a threesome/foursome with Isabela because Leliana objected. That's fine as well.

Then DA II came out. I romanced Isabela and Merrill. I got a quest to hunt down an elven Antivan Crow. My heart soared. I ran off with Isabela and Merrill to meet Zevran. Tons of flirt options with the saucy elf! I helped him kill whomever, looted the bodies, and returned for my 'reward.'

As Zevran is about to depart, Isabela says, "But wait! What about sex?" Oh Isabela, I <3 you so much. It's like a fragment of my soul broke off and came to life as a sl*tty pirate.

And then she walked off with him.

He didn't even offer a regular roll behind the bushes to the woman that helped him! And Isabela, there's a word (NSFW) for women like you.

After staring horrified at the screen while she swaggered off with Zevran, I moved on. We're all a bit greedy sometimes and she did know him previously and whateverthehell.

I finished the game and started reading these forums in earnest. Here I discovered that you could sleep with Zevran and Isabela if you were in a relationship with Isabela. But I was! What went wrong?

Oh, I slept with Merrill, which must have canceled out the romance.

I want you to think about this: Had I been *monogamous* with Isabela, I'd have had a threesome. Because I was *promiscuous,* and slept with her and Merrill, I didn't get one.

THAT MAKES NO SENSE.

I know, it's a meta-explanation for sleeping with Merrill killing the Isabela romance. Though, I think there's something loopy going on, because I'm living with Merrill, and Gamlen's talking about me "slipping to that pirate ****." I'm all "Dude, that was years ago. My tastes run slighter now."

Yes, it works if Leliana is hardened. Just like the Jade Empire one works if you play a dude and this one works if you only sleep with Isabela.

I'm not saying that threesomes are impossible in BioWare games.

I don't think Isabela counts your time together as a romance until act three, and only if you don't sleep with Merrill. She's to fond of the elf to fight her over you. Guys get a 'hurt her and I'll cut your balls off' line, is there something similar for girls?

I'm also curious as to what happens if Isabela isn't there, maybe Zevran still makes an offer and Merrill will object then?

I was able to have that fabled threesome. Isabela was totally okay with it too, and Zevran was sort of like, "the more the merrier". 

The sky cleared, the sun was shining directly on my Hawke and little cherubs were playing trumpets, as they flew around the lucky three.

And it was awesome.

In DA:O You can have a threesome (or foursome) with Leliana if you have "hardened" her (during her personal quest make her kill Marjolaine, and then at the camp, during her next couple conversations tell her she was never meant to be a Chantry sister and will always be a bard at heart.) and romanced her. It's a long process, but you can still get your Leliana/Isabela threesome!

I don't quite see your point, miss Maria. You list several sitations that basically come down to  "You must meet condition(s) X and/or Y to proceed with threesome Z". It's the same with the Isabela/Zevran threesome. You met condition X (smexing Isabela), but then you set yourself up in condition Y (smexing Merrill), and condition Y negates X so Z (the threesome) isn't possible anymore. If you meet condition Y first, then condition X, you can go wild with Z because X is the one that enables Z.

Is it fair? No. But Isabela doesn't play fair, she cheats, Kitten.
