So, as the title says, I have about 120g.  I'm playing a 2h warrior.  What should I be spending the gold on?  I feel like it's so hard to accumulate gold so I've been holding out.  I've seen items in Act 2 that are priced at ridiculous amounts.  One item that comes to mind I think costs like 111g.  One item for over 100g seems absolutely insane unless I'm going to eventually be getting tons of gold left and right.

I'm afraid to spend any gold because I don't want to end up being broke in Act 3 where there is potentially better items.  Should I be spending my gold on items that cost 30g+?  Should I wait longer?  Should I spend gold on accessories/weapons for my companions?

Honestly it depends on the items. If I remember right, Act 2 and 3 have somewhat similar items, while Act 3 you can find more decent items just laying around in quests and the like, they're still not too different compared to some of the more epic items from Act 2.

If you're REALLY unsure, ask me about an item or two (stats included) and I'll tell you whether I personally would still enjoy that item throughout Act 3 to the finish.

Though if I remember correctly, the only items I bought were usually between 50 and 88 gold, and they seemed to be the best I could find of those at all.

I'd get the Armor from them Black Emporium. It's immunity to Stun and flat out 20% damage reduction is really good - I find it even better than The Champion Armor. Then you might want to get the amulet or ring I cant remember for immunity to flanking and critical hits.

I ended the game at level 24 and I get a natural -18% damage resistant penalty >.< darn you Bioware. So that armor really helps.

Haha, I was going to insist he get that ring and amulet as well.. Ring of No Wishes, but I always mention it in nearly every thread I head to, so I'm starting to feel annoying for spouting it so much. An amulet that gives immunity to flanking, yes, and the Ring of No Wishes gives immunity to Crit and Stun, making it a very insane ring for a tank. However, if you have the tanking talents that give you similar immunities, I'd defenitely reccomend putting the ring on a squishy melee character, and then last but not least, a ranged squishy.

Well OP is playing a 2H warrior I doubt he would have much tanking ability until later. :P

With items, you will probably be able to find a decent/better replacement for that vendor item, doing a quest or killing a boss.

As for your 2h warrior, your weapon is most likely the most important piece of equipment.
If you have a weapon with about 28ish dmg in Act 2 I would say youre covered, and shouldnt be spending much time to get a better one.

In Act 3 there are 3 nice weapons you can get your hands on:
- Sundering, a Mace with Electricy dmg, bought in the "Recently Opened Passage" in Sundermount, at the golem.
- The Celebrant, a Sword with Spirit dmg, aquired during the questline The Arwegian Scrolls
- Bloom, an Axe with Cold dmg, aquired during the same questline

My advice is to get all 3, since they each have their own element.
And then you should use the one the opponents isnt resistant to.

If they arnt resistant, just go with the coolest. (Sundering, makes lightning from the air, strike the opponents when using special attacks :D)

All in all, go the the gear you can get from quests/bosses, and only buy vendor goods, when youre nearing the end of an act, and still using gear from previous act :D

My rogue used the ring and it made me godlike :P If nothing can kill you, stun you, or crit you (by the way, immunity to stuns actually seems to apply for most Knockbacks too, at least ones that I've run into) then you can go to town with your damage without worrying at all about being knocked around or an opponent getting a lucky crit to suddenly drop you low enough that you have to stop your DPS to eat a potion!

However, without knowing the OP's skills or playstyle and such, I definitely believe Splintie hit the nail on the head.

-Playing on Hard difficulty-

Sorry, I've been gone all day so I didnt have time to reply. I've been using my warrior as a 2h tank up till now. I'm level 15 I believe with stats mainly STR/CON close to a 2:1 ratio. A few points in willpower for the extra stamina.

Abilities include all the ones in Two-handed and a few upgrades for each. Vanguard tree to get cleave, it's upgrade, and massacre. Reaver/Templar specializations. I grabbed blood frenzy and lifesteal one in Reaver. Smite in templar.

I do not have any tanking talents as I rely on Varric for re-directing threat, Anders for heals, barrier, and support (heroic aura, panacea, etc), and Isabella runs around stabbing things. I've had no problems with killing anything including Ancient Rock Wraith or surviving.

I really just don't want to end the game with a bunch of gold in pocket. I want to use it on weapon or armor over rings/accessories since you visually see change w/ wpn/armor. If good weapons come from Act 3, I can wait. I'll just use whatever I pick up. Is the armor from the black emporium good? Are there any accessories you would recommend buying in Act 2 that will last to the end?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I spent my money on ability/attribute tomes. You'll probably sink at least 100 gold there if you get them all.

For warriors, I don't know if any of the 100 gold+ weapon/armor items are worth it compared to free drops. My first run through, I bought the armor at the black emporium only to discover that the champion set is pretty comparable.

I would suggest looking around at some of the 5 star rings/belts/amulets that are for sale in act 3. They are all decently priced and pretty good.

Yeah, I now have a random drop sword which is better than any of the other swords I can purchase. I still need armor, but I realized the champion armor is from a quest. It doesn't seem worth spending 111g for the armor at black emporium now. I have been buying the tomes and what no since the beginning. I guess I'll find somewhere to spend the gold.
