I just completing the game and I'm curious about what the differences are when you side with the Templars?
Does Anders still blow up the Chantry? (I assume so)
Do you still fight and kill a Blood Mage Orsino and a crazed Meredith? (I also assume so)
So, there's really no difference in the endings, beyond the companions who fight against/with you? The Chantries across Thedas still go crazy because of the events in Kirkwall yada yada, all because of a sparkly idol.

Chantry is still destroyed.
Orsino tells you to stand back instead of being pleased that you're alive. (when you arrive to the Gallows)
You talk with Meredith a bit and you have a feeling like Cullen isn't too sure about her. Inside the Gallows itself, you find a group of mages surrendering and they don't want to be killed. Cullen opposes the decision of killing them because he says that the Ferelden Circle was worst and even then some mages lived (might change depending on import), Meredith orders them to be killed anyways. You're able to convince Cullen to stand up against Meredith to spare the mages which makes Meredith give you an evil stare.
After fighting through the mages and demons, you arrive to an insane Orsino who killed all the mages and says that he helped your mother's killer. You can call him out on it but he does the spell and turns into the Harvester and attacks you.
After you're done annuling the Circle, you walk out and the events happen the same where Meredith orders the templar to kill you and you fight her.
After she's dead, the templar kneel down before you and Varric's narration says that you were made Viscount. Ending plays out the same as the mage ending soon afterward.

Everything is the same except you get to spare a couple of mages if side with templars and you obtain their respect, they all kneel at your feet and they make you Viscount of Kirkwall (Ruler)
