You need a DVD to play this? Wow I didn't even know. I'm glad I didn't buy this game from best buy instead of steam.

The digital download version requires no disc and has been available since release day. So why would Bioware fix a non-existant problem?

Ok dear i gonna spell it to u slowly :)
Not all ppl bought from steam or Ea store HENCE they have the DVD version of the game.
Now If they have the DvD version of the game The hint is in the title No DvD Patch :)
takes 2 min for bio to make it and will make everyone happy.

Since ppl dident buy from steam and ea store we have the Physical Box We need the No DvD Patch :) UNLESS bioware is so kind and gives uss a Digital Download in our purchase wich i doubt they do :)

1 - Go get EA Download Manager
2 - Use CD key to get free download
3 - Profit!...Well not really since you already paid for it and had access to since release day

All you had to do was uninstall the DVD version and reinstall the Digital version. Or you could have just mirror imaged your DVD disk like with nero and use a virtual drive program to make a virtual dvd drive which holds your virtual dvd disk image. But yeah, Bioware should have made a no dvd patch by now. Like Dragon Age 2 has no disk check, why not DAO.

I always thought decisions like that were made by the publisher and not the developer.

I guess so. But I still don't get the point of disc check on DAO retail, including Ultimate Edition.

Yeah disc check sucks. People who use pirate copy always find a way. So only those who paid for the game suffer. It's always been like that.
