The epilogue is very buggy indeed. If you sleep with Isabela, the epilogue will say that she stayed with you, regardless of what happens later in the game.
If you romance Anders and then end up killing him at the end of the game, he still "stays with you". Creepy.

So, I finally played it right and didn't talk to Isabela before talking to Fenris in Act3. This results in the Varric/Aveline/Fenris conversation. Doing it this way, I was able to see that the dialogue option that people have been interpreting as "move in with me". The PC never says that. What he/she says IS "Stay with me" which could be misunderstood as "come live with me" I guess. I think what she actually means though is, let's be together as a couple - then he promises to stay by her side and they kiss.
OK, my curiosity is satisfied!
Too bad he doesn't show up at your mansion now and then for nocturnal snuggling but.. maybe the mod community will pull a miracle and we'll get it someday.

I romanced him but, after what he did, I kicked him out and told him it was over (broken-heart dialogue icon). Epilogue said "of course we stayed together". Huh!?Hawke1284 wrote...

In my playthrough, the ending said that "the champion stayed with ...." then it said "Merrill/Fenris" at the same time. Funny. (Especially since I thought I'd been booted out of both romances.)

One of my games said Anders stayed with him, even though I'd killed him...
