There is a semi porn scene in one of the mansion rooms in the Sebastian Vael quest, where you can clearly see a woman going down on a man.

Exactly.but this is not what i mean. That sebastian vael quest is very childish
Fire?Where is the fire?
Isabela and hawke scene  reminds me on Johnny Depp and Kira Knightley in Pirates of the carribean.
But i have never seen Johnny Depp killing 10000 people with violence and gore.Posted Image

The big problem here is that like a lot of the game the "love scenes" are dull, uninspired and passionless. They really feel like they've been put in because BioWare knew people expected that of them, rather than having any inspiration or creativity to do something with them. "Here's the scene, let's get it over and done with." What's the point of having such dull love scenes? Love scenes are supposed to evoke emotions and feelings from people. The telephone scene in It's a Wonderful Life is more steamy than anything in DA2 and that's just two people talking on a phone.

You'd think having a romance with Isabela would be fun, exciting and adventurous. Frankly her scene with the Warden contained more of these elements than any with Hawke.

BioWare hit their creative peak with this sort of thing in Mass Effect but since then it's been downhill and more and becoming more and more like a pale imitation of past glories.

You're not an adult if you want sex scenes a game. You're a manchild then.
Like I said, adults don't need the nudity. They can get that in real life.

It's a role playing game.

As an example, there's a brothel in the game. By your reasoning, anyone who wants to visit a brothel should do it in real life. Because, if you want sex or even just a bit of female flesh in game, you're a manchild. Whilst brothels are legal in some countries and states, I would not do this in real life. Now, whilst you could argue that I should just pick up a girl at a club (irl), my character can't do that. Therefore, romancing companions or going to a brothel is the only way. Nudity is part of sex. Therefore, nudity should be allowed.

Another example. I am, actually, a guy. Most of my characters are female, because I'm effeminate, and in matters of empathy and emotion, I identify more closely with females. I am not, however, gay. I would, though, like to role play as a girl who likes guys, and experience something akin to the female gamers. Again, this is not possible in real life, since I am not actually a girl.

Another example. I don't act like a bastard in real life. However, some of the my characters do things I would never do myself, in real life.

End result: Characters in a role playing game do things - and allow me to experience things - which are not allowed or are impossible in real life. Lack of nudity in a role playing game breaks the suspension of disbelief, and takes me out of the situation. I do not like this. Speaking as a pen-and-paper role player, I see no reason why there should be a lack of realistic sexual encounters in something that purports to be a role playing game.

Edit to add: And of course, there are those who find porn in real life offensive, since it can be seen to take advantage of women, and to further the (very bad) stereotype of fake boobed women as the be-all-and-end-all of female beauty.

Sex is part of life (unless you are a nun I guess). I am a woman. I am 31 years old. I am married. I see nudity everyday and have regular sex. If you don't want to have sex in the game...don't. Nobody is forcing you but I was really disappointed in the lack of interaction with my teammates in this game. I figured it would have been even better than in DA:O and I loved that game! That there was only 2 kiss scenes (I only romanced one player)...weak...that it didn't show any real nudity...weaker.

TheMyrddon - Every statement you issued I have disproved and I know that I am not the only one out there. You have a choice whether or not you wish to pursue a romance....let me have the same choice to view it as an adult.

Emoking - Thank you! It really frustrates me that other people's view so restrict the whole. I do purchase pornographic material...and so what. Sex is natural and beautiful. The nude human body is beautiful...be it male or female. And sex is what it is...you do not need to love to enjoy sex (brothel). I love that Bioware has included brothel's and sex...just give it to me real...in DA:O you got to see them in their underwear at least...I was so disappointed in 2's sex!
The beauty of a game (especially an RPG) is that you get to do things that you normally wouldn’t. You get to experience it through your character. You want it to be somewhat real. I am also an avid reader…to me it is the same thing…you read it because you enjoy it…you read it to momentarily escape reality. I have read books (romance books) that give more satisfaction than this game did in the sex department.

Need? No.

But it´s pleasant to have porn in your game.

Let's not be too angry about the lack of skin. After all, Bioware took some serious (if overblown) heat from the amount of skin that was shown in Mass Effect.

I can still remember Fox News blasting Bioware for making a sex simulator or some other such nonesense. Don't be too hard on them for being more conservative on what they show. I'm still pleased that they even include romance in their games.

Personally, I blame the U.S. attitude (I live there myself) where its fine to have movies like Saw but its not cool to show skin. I'd rather it was the other way around...

People actually like CGI "sex" scenes? I find them forced and awkward at best. I don't like 'em in movies either. Can't they just hint on what is going to happen, do a fade to black and be done with it?

EDIT: I rather they include more realistic gore elements. Decapitations etc..

As to the nudity dispute, sometimes dressed is more attractive than undressed. And good dialogue and inuendo can be more interesting (or provacative) than illustration.

Personally, I've found myself drifting in this direction over the last few years. :)

It's the right decision from Bioware.

If you can't do it well, don't do it. The RPG industry would do just fine to wait another couple of years until animation is good enough to give love scenes their due. In the meantime, there are plenty of ways around having to show puppet sex.

Yes, because the characters in DA2 aren't shown doing anything where clothing is inappropriate, whereas the Origins characters clearly should be naked but aren't.

Actually, not always...

And "romance" doesn't require nudity.

Apparently, Bioware is giving people blue balls with the lack of sex scenes. Interesting

This is of course important too.

Games need more sex AND more violence, to prey upon man´s most bestial instincts.

This allows them to make ash!tload of money AND it´s fun to watch.

Typical win-win I´d say:devil:

I agree, they needed a more romantic scene in DA2. I felt like the only time i connected at all with my "lover" was when we were talking about killing people and discussing the current issues we were facing. Kinda stripped the whole romantic aspect out of the game.

Sex is preferrably better with nudity. Or is that just me?

My concern isn't so much the lack of nudity/quality love scenes but that we may never see the much desired toolset for DA2. No toolset = extremely limited modding for DA2 which will sharply affect it's shelf-life :(

Hmm.. the romance scene was disapointing , but not only
because there was no real sex scene.. the Romance part was to
short..a few kisses a few cuddles and everything faded to black thats it.

What i don`t like is that they tied the sex to romances. Which is quite poor. It should be completely separated, you should`t need to have romance with someone to sleep with them.

SHEEESH! LIKE DUH! You should have to use your imagination for the violence too and the blood.

I'm with the OP on this one. Bioware has NO balls when it coes to showing skin. The game should have full nudity and not just the girls getting naked, the guys too with schlong shots so the ladies don't feel left out. And yes I'm being serious. Puritanism and the remnants of that horrible cultural disease needs to be smashed out of the collective conciousness.

LOL if you wanted a true sex scene then this game would of been rated AO for Adults Only.

Which is part of the problem. The game is already rated M (17) .... so what the f is the point of another rating over that?
