ADULTS don't need the nudity. Bioware keeps pushing the emotional connection and the actual relationship rather than just the pillow fun.

Just wait for them to release a tool set and you'll get your pixel porn.

Adults don't need the nudity? Haha nice one. Please explain me why the porn industry is so successful?

Now, I personally don't mind at all not seeing nudity in a game, but it is possible to do something sexy and emotional that actually is good and works. And I refer to the Mass Effect 1 love scene. In my taste, that was perfect.

What they mean is puritans don't like nudity because of their own shame.

I used to do river rafting tours with a friend in austria ... well everyone would just strip naked and get into their wetsuits right out in the open in front of each other, kids around and all. There was no shame or weirdness. Try that in the USA and people would spazzzzzzzzz.

What is thread can never die, but rises again, harder and stronger.

As I said 5 months ago, I thought DA2 didn't do too bad. Though it would have been better if the party members weren't fully dressed after the fade to black.

Much better than anything Bio has done post ME1. ME1 was done really well though and is easily Bio's best love scene.

Sure, but what exactly did those scenes add besides nudity?

Didn't GTAIV feature full frontal male nudity? I didn't play The Ballad of Gay Tony but I remember reading something about a scene with a guy standing around naked, with no sex involved.

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Partial nudity is featured frequently in rated R movies. No reason it can't be in a rated M game, other than developer fear of controversy.

Don't need to see naked flesh to appreciate a love scene. That's more for the young kids moreso than adults.

Been going downhill since ME1, those were the best done scenes.

That is the most played out and nonsense argument ever made.  Adults love to see nudity. Prudes don't. Some young folks love to see nudity too, prudes don't.

This fear of boobies and pen..is and vag...ina is a remant of puritanism.

The games are rated M (17+). I think anyone that age is perfectly capable of seeing some nakedness.

Um. I think it's a bit mean someone a prude if they don't want pixel T&A plastered over their screen.

Yes, it's rated M. Yes, I am an adult. No, I'm not going to cower in fear and cleanse myself with holy water and give myself twenty lashings and pray to my lord and savior if I see a naked person. People who would prefer not to see video game nudity aren't charicatures of puritanism.

I mean, I have studied puritanism far, far more than I would have ever liked to so I get what you're saying about their ideals and fears. However, someone not requiring sex in a video game is not an issue of fear or being incapable of viewing it. It's simply a matter of preference. I don't want porn in my games when I am trying to relax. It takes me out of the moment. I don't need sex or nakedness to find emotional enjoyment in a scene.

Please don't get me wrong. What ME1 did was fantastic and what Fox News did to the scene was obnoxious on every single level imaginable. I thought the whole thing was very classy. It sounds like you want something more than that, though, and if I'm wrong then I am very sorry I misunderstood you. I just don't understand what is so important about spending the resources on sex scenes when it could be spent on story and art development.

To me, DA2 was great. Very emotional, very personal, which is where I think it needs to be in a game so focused on interpersonal relationships. I wish they were about 30 seconds longer, but whatever. They're not that important in the long run. Seeing pixel bodies isn't ever going to be the same as seeing actual bodies, anyway. DA:O sex scenes often felt like playing naughty with Barbie and Ken. Awkwarrrrd. Image IPB

Yeah - I didn't like dao's sex scenes too because they felt awkward and weird. I liked me1's and I like DA2's more personal/companion specific approach. I don't mind seeing a little more skin though (I just want to see Fenris' tatooes)

But somehow, people can't even talk about sex and maturity in games without being puerile and all the snickering.

Please don't resurrect 5-month-old threads.

End of line.
