I just watched one of the mod sex scenes on youtube and it was incredibly cheesy. I liked how Bioware did DA:O scenes. Maybe add a little length to them but they were nicely done. Have yet to see DA2 scenes.

lol, interactive sex none the less. That was such a great game... but the sex scenes were so awkward to me... I guess because I had to 'participate.'

Where is the sex? Where is the emotional connection between Hawk and the respective romance options. IMO it would be better with no romance option in this game. Are they making fun of this feature? Thats what it felt like for me. I would prefer my companions stay friends, then the lame pick up lines. I'm not there anyway when they somehow connect...apparently.

The only meaningful conversations ive had with any character is Aveline. I guess im supposed to care, but i'm finding i have to guess at Hawk having at least some meaningful conversations with his/her future lover when i'm not around. One can only hope.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the characters, but why have the option when it feels so empty? Going from DAO to this? IDK..maybe im just picky.

The blood and gore in this game is humorous..i actually laugh. My ememies explode with a flick of my wrist...

This is just my opinion, and i respect people who think differently.

If you want suggestive content, do Sebastian's personal quest from Act 2, then save before the bedroom scene between that noble and the elf, and reload it endlessly. Enjoy.

Indeed. Just another "streamlining" like someone said very well.

I was waiting when someone makes a topic of this to see how bio fanatics pop up to say "less is more".

In DA when I went to brothel there was hilarious scenes.

In DA2 when I went to brothel my char wakes up in empty room with no sex humour.

I wonder is that because of "we can do it cheap lol no probs" or "masses got offended", or both.

DA2 is the biggest fail I know.

ADULTS don't need the nudity. Bioware keeps pushing the emotional connection and the actual relationship rather than just the pillow fun.

Just wait for them to release a tool set and you'll get your pixel porn.

^ This.

I have enjoyed the relationships in DA:O and DA2 better than ME1&2 because the characters actually seem to have a relationship and love that develops. I could care less how much flesh is shown during the scenes when they consemate their union. I like that Merrill talks to my companions about how she feels about Hawke and how I can actually think of the two of them together. If anything we need more relationship and less awkward "love scenes"

Of course, maybe that's just because I'm in a real relationship and because I have always been a reader (you don't get to see naked bodies in books either). ;)

Morrigan: Ohhh tis cold in my tent tonight.
Warden: Use a blanket then.
Morrigan: Ha! You tease!
*sex scene*

Yes, that is quite a relationship.
I do have to say the Merill sex scene was a bit romantic in DA2.

Relationship with Morrigan was not at all that ez. You only got sex easily from Morrigan - and that before she got attached.

I think he's just upset 'cause he actually DID want Morrigan to just use a blanket, and then she raped him.

But I don't want suggestive content. I want a roleplaying game which treats me like an adult, doesn't shy away from sex, and doesn't assume that the definition of "mature" is an oral sex reference and copious amounts of blood.

Edit: This, btw, is the ESRB description for the game

You're not an adult if you want sex scenes a game. You're a manchild then.
Like I said, adults don't need the nudity. They can get that in real life.

Lol, I had to read twice before I got that she raped him.

One thing what keeps me playing DA2 is Izzy and cinematics where Izzy jumps on Hawke. I know thought I wont have there responses I would like to have. It would be like this:

*izzy jumps on hawke*
Hawke: WTF!
*izzy tries to kiss hawke*
Hawke: Hands off me!
*izzy stops*
*Hawke makes 1/2 hour lecture about proper behaviour to Izzy*

It's a role playing game.

As an example, there's a brothel in the game. By your reasoning, anyone who wants to visit a brothel should do it in real life. Because, if you want sex or even just a bit of female flesh in game, you're a manchild. Whilst brothels are legal in some countries and states, I would not do this in real life. Now, whilst you could argue that I should just pick up a girl at a club (irl), my character can't do that. Therefore, romancing companions or going to a brothel is the only way. Nudity is part of sex. Therefore, nudity should be allowed.

Another example. I am, actually, a guy. Most of my characters are female, because I'm effeminate, and in matters of empathy and emotion, I identify more closely with females. I am not, however, gay. I would, though, like to role play as a girl who likes guys, and experience something akin to the female gamers. Again, this is not possible in real life, since I am not actually a girl.

Another example. I don't act like a bastard in real life. However, some of the my characters do things I would never do myself, in real life.

End result: Characters in a role playing game do things - and allow me to experience things - which are not allowed or are impossible in real life. Lack of nudity in a role playing game breaks the suspension of disbelief, and takes me out of the situation. I do not like this. Speaking as a pen-and-paper role player, I see no reason why there should be a lack of realistic sexual encounters in something that purports to be a role playing game.

Edit to add: And of course, there are those who find porn in real life offensive, since it can be seen to take advantage of women, and to further the (very bad) stereotype of fake boobed women as the be-all-and-end-all of female beauty.

I agree 100 % with OP.
Something is really wrong in our world when simple nudity can't be shown but blood gore, flying limbs, total violence is just fine to show in a 18-rated game. the double standard that extreme violence is okay and nudity is bad it's so ridiculous is hard to believe. and it's not this game, it's most games out here. but we all know the reason. don't we?

Well to be fair I romanced Leliana so I wouldn't know abou that witch. More specifically though, I am talking about the way a lot of the companions open up their feelings to you and I really love the inter-NPC banter after you are in a romance with them. I think having more post-"romance" conversation would be great though. I always find it weird that romance seems to end at the bedroom. The Act 3 companion quests helpped this a little, but honestly I would love to see a quest or even just some conversation that only happens if you romance them because of the intimate trust they have for you.

But that's just me feelings on the subject. :P

There is nothing wrong with sex, and assuming the very act panders to the lowest demographic is idiotic. Mass Effect had very tasteful scenes. DAO had those same scenes with your clothes on. I think the problem is America’s ESRB rating system seems to be a little vague. They’ve got ‘Mature’ then ‘Adults Only’, and most Adults Only games aren’t even carried in stores. Over in England DA2 is 18+ (18+ games are not excluded from stores here) and does nothing to warrant that rating.

I agree there is nothing wrong with sex. However, by the same token there is not always a need for it either. My personal feelings is that I liked DA:O and DA2 romances more than ME 1&2 and that had nothing to do with how to sex scenes were done. DA:O and ME had similar ways of doing it and ME2 and DA2 also had similar ways of doing it. In the end it came down to the fact that I felt like the Warden and Champion cared about their LI and, as far as I have seen, Shephard is just in it because he gets lonely on his ship.

This is upsetting.

Every good hollywood movie has a nice love scene. Take desperado for example. Action packed with a killer love scene.

It just goes to show that Bioware doesn't give a **** anymore. So sad.  They've lost their art and passion.

I disagree. The Isabela one was a very good example of a classic hollywood love scene. Stripping each other...not of clothes...but of daggers...was a a very excellent nod to the classic swashbucklers. It had passion. It was clever. It didn't need nudity.

I think so too.

But what I can't understand:
If somebody at Bioware had ever visited a page like dragonagenexus they would have known that better sex scenes are expected. The mod "Better sex scenes" on the nexus page is for more than a year now constantly in the top 15 and is in 3rd place of endorsements of all-time after the redesigned DA mod and the Hairstyles pack.

I'm also very interested what a Bioware dev would say according to the "valentines-Pictures" that have been posted and raised wrong expectations concerning the love scenes:

As an example:

http://img403.images...87/romance4.jpg

lol.

it just pisses me off that people (mainly the media and religious yanks) are fine with gallons of blood, dismemberments and decapitations, but slip a nip and people start s*****ng bricks...

let me ask you, if you had to choose between me humping one of your loved ones or chopping their head off...which would you prefer?

Shown this before. but do it gladly again :-)

What is the most natural thing to do in modern society?
1: Procreate.
2: Kill someone
What do we want our kids to do when they grow up?
1: Procreate.
2: Kill someone.

What are we most afraid of:
1: Getting raped.
2: Getting killed.

What do we want the most:
1: Have sex
2: To kill someone

...
If your score is 4 or below, you're normal
If your score is 5, you are religious nut.
If your score is 6 or above, you're lying and/or a psychopath.

...
Then comes the question:
What do we want our kids to watch..:
a) Sex / Virtual sex
B) Murder / Virtual murder

...

If you say B) -- isn't it because YOU feel insecure, and not because there's any REAL reason EXCEPT your insecurity that makes you want to watch violence over sex?
