Another example. I am, actually, a guy. Most of my characters are female, because I'm effeminate, and in matters of empathy and emotion, I identify more closely with females. I am not, however, gay. I would, though, like to role play as a girl who likes guys, and experience something akin to the female gamers. Again, this is not possible in real life, since I am not actually a girl.

There are plenty of R rated movies that get by just fine without nudity in a sex scene, or even without a sex scene altogether. Just because heads and limbs are popping off doesn't necessarily mean there needs to be big ****** flopping all over the place.

It was to illustrtate the fact that it's a role playing game.

I'm not weird.

Honest.

Just by saying that you're not weird it doesn't make what you wrote sound better to me.
Do whatever you like as long as you don't hurt anybody. :P

We have to push this thread sometimes so that a BioWare Dev will respond on this topic. I would love to hearwhat Mr. Priestly for example would have to say....

I like the ones in DA2 better. They are tasteful, and don't have that issue that 1 had, where it's pretty obvious your characters are in the act, but you're still wearing your Burlap undies.

We can thank Fox News for this. Since BW got smacked over the ME scene, even though Fox had no idea what they were talking about and were proved wrong, BW lost their balls.

If anything, the Fox coverage increased the sales.

While I do not think that pixelated sex is something to get excited about when i can have it in real life, I can see it being part of the romance story but it would have to be done right. The first game at least made those scenes tasteful, ya it was ridiculous to see the models rolling around in underwear, but it added to the story a bit more. DA2's scenes just didn't do that for me.

I thought the sex scenes in Origins were very romantic with just the right amount of nudity, but DA2 left me wondering if I'd actually slept with them, I did bed Anders first and he's fully clothed the entire time...

I seriously don't get all the fuzz... It's alright to watch bloodsplatters and limbs fly against your screen, but Maker forbid showing some exposed skin?
I would like some scene to show the romance, she building relationship. Heck, family shows are all about romance and showing affection. Plenty of 12+-rated movies have 'implied nudity and sex' in them. Then why is it such a taboo in MATURE games? I should really go see a physic if I want to play a 50-hour game only for seeing a 30 second cutscene with pixel sex... So really, it is NOT for the 'implied p0rn', as some naysayers seem to have as argument.
In fact, Team America type of 'pixel porn' is only very humerous, whilst I would like a serious note. Implying is therefore imo better then showing. Mass Effect 1 was, as mentioned earlier by others, a masterpiece for this. I thought it to be very tasteful and romantic. It didn't show anything more then your average music clip that's on MTV at 2 pm...

this game is not about sex i dont know why such a very minor thing should be important

It's called relationship and story building. If I, as a character in a story, feel connected to the other character that I am supposed to 'love/want to do", then it adds a layer of believability.

The funny thing is, if they wanted to reach their famous "10 million copies!" target, adding more sexual content (and by this I don't mean porn, and not even explicit nudity) would probably be the best way to succeed.

I have only seen one sex scene and that was with Isabella.

Have to it was very well done when compared to the awkward looking face pulling of Origins. The way the music kicked as Isabella pounced on the champ and throwing knives all over the place, had me in hysterics.

Like I said, Origins sex scenes were just cringworthy to watch due to the face animations and the medieval Anne Summers nightware

Like it has been noted, the stupid brouhaha made by Fox probably helped the sales rather than harming them.

AVERAGE GAMER - Hmm, so this game has reprehensible hot lesbian sex with buxom aliens. Where can I buy it?

***gets to the sex scene in writhing anticipation, and is rewarded with a two-seconds shot of Ashley's bare rear***

AVERAGE GAMER - Are you ****** kidding me?!

The animators were sent over the work on ME3, as with all the other talent and most of the money. So we get stuck with fade to black and a zip up sound after.

Expect 30 mins of solid sex scenes between each of the characters in ME3 though!

I'm personally glad, I don't feel it's necessary to show sex scenes in anything: games, movies, series etc. it's much more tasteful when a hint is given only rather than spelling it out like softcore porn.

Tasteful hints are like moving the camera to where the women threw her underwear onto the lamp and fading to black as she giggles or something.

There was none of this present.
