I did. It felt damn good... I wanted to do it even before seeing the Chantry blow up for no good reason.... at all... stupid terrorist.... who was so whiny... bloody hell he was worse than the emo elf romance I had to endure before I reloaded....

also the **** made me replay act 3 so many bloody times just to see if there was any way I could prevent the Chantry from blowing up and resolving the issue peacefully.... and that was agonizing considering that Bioware loves to copy paste terrain all over the place =_= not to mention I had to see Zevran look... god I don't know what they did to his face but good lord.... and Alistair... was it just me or did he look fattened up a bit? Though Leliana did look prettier than the last time... that or she had more makeup on, whatevs.

the only comfort to all that replaying was knowing that I could hear Female Hawke's sexy sarcasm... oh ya... I loved her voice...

Anywho though...

Anders had to die. Period. I hope that's the canon choice in DA3 which I eagerly await...

PS: Dragon Age 2 wasn't really that bad come on people =.= better characters imo.... inciting a myriad of emotions in me... excluding Carver... cause I didn't want to get to know him thus I went warrior... and excluding Anders who i hate with a passion...though that actually means he's a good character since he incites such hate in me.... also we got sexy Hawke voice D: ..... it makes everything all the more better. and Leliana wasn't annoying as hell for once trying to preach to me D: and Isabella/Fem Hawke romance was hawte... (haha see what I did there)

Anywho.

Anders dead. Mission accomplished.

I couldn't kill Anders... he was one of my fav in Awakening and I was his good friend in DA2...
Also... he has a lot of potential... could end up like Wynne or better if you guide him to the right direction... I thought it was just too much waste of a character considering that he is only one who returend from the origin series, not to mention he is a major part of the story in DA2. Kinda wanna see what he can do in DA3 or upcoming expansions

Oh come on now! All Anders did was burn down a chantry.
Surely he deserves a stern scolding, but besides that I doubt there is much to fuss over.

All he really did was steal your kill, I mean I bet plenty of you would have burned down that chantry yourselves if you could. Unless you hate mages of course, in which case you're probably delighted to get to butcher them.

As long as Anders lets me to destroy the next chantry we're cool.

Leliana died in DA:O. Thanks for the retcon Bioware.

Anyway, I killed Anders and I'm glad I did it. He was too dangerous and didn't respond to logic... freaking zealot... Too bad you don't get the option to slay him on sight for being an abomination. That little stunt clearly proved that it was a mistake to trust him.

I thought it was coold display. Really a huge plot twister. Thought to myself was "Only a former Grey Warden can do pull off grand scale bombardment like this"....

He was my healer too.  Made for an interesting final battle when I knifed him haha.

Whenever I play a Bioware game for the first time, I just try to pick the choices that I think make sense based on the setup for the character (and of course partly from how I wanted to play that character).  I ended up doing FemHawke, helping out the apostates, and romancing Anders.  That though...it was just to much.  I couldn't just let him leave and I certainly wasn't going to bring him along with me.   I felt like it was a personal betrayal as well as a political one because I had been trying to hard to negotiate peace.

Plus it was a swift death, rather than what the Templars would have done to him.

I would have blown up the chantry myself. Don't think there was much loss there but of course I hated the chantry as a mage in DAO and so I can see exactly where Anders was coming from. The templars had all the power and could do whatever they liked to mages and others, including rape, murder and making them tranquil for no good reason.  I don't see Anders as a terrroist, I see him as a radical who wants a change and the only way to get it is to go big.  In Fereldon, I wouldn't have agreed because it seems to be more lenient but in Kirkwall, the chantry can go to hell.

I didn't kill him. I almost banished him from my sight, but when he was still there at the mage's final battle I let him come back to the group.

My Hawke was just the kind of person who felt that anyone can do something terrible and that when that happens that person may never end up being forgiven. However, taking vengeance won't undo what he did. If killing him would stop the rite of annulment I probably would, but as it stood nothing was going to do that. Even though Anders did something terrible he could still do right with his life.

Of course, I would have a hard time trusting him ever again and if I ever thought he was going to do something like that again I would end him faster than Oghren downing a pint of ale.

I wanted too, but couldn't do it.  Simply because I was still on my first playthrough and didn't know what to expect from the final confrontations.  After doing it, I plan on gutting the bastard in future playthroughs.

He deserved it after what he did, that bastard. If only he had trusted me to sort things out rather than resorting to extreme measures.

if he hates templars so much, he should blow up them, not the only one reasonable leader in Kirkwall and hundreds innocent sisters in the Chantry. i am mage (i mean, my hawke is mage :), but so far almost every mage i've met was a blood mage. i feel lonely.

I supported mages throughout the entire game, every chance I could. And I knew I was going to support the mages over the Templars in Act 3.

Then Anders had to blow up a Chantry and kill a Grand Cleric. I killed him and had no choice but to side with the Templars and try to bring some sense of order to Kirkwall. Hopefully with Hawke as Viscount, he can do some things to alleviate the tensions between the Templars and Circle of Magi while the 13 other Circles rise up against the Chantry.

I didn't kill him, but I certainly don't blame anyone for doing so. Toughest decision I had to make by about a mile, as I had grown really fond of him (so did my Hawke, seeing as he was her love interest. :P). But still. That was messed up, right there.

Working on a MANHAWKE mage playthrough now. He'll side with the mages because ... of course he will, but I doubt Anders will make it out of Act 3 alive this time.

I killed him. The bastard left me no choice really. Sebastian was right. The Grand Cleric and all the innocent people who were in the chantry didn't deserve any of what they got. It was all fanatics going at it like this was a UFC match.

In the end my warrior still sided with the mages. I'll be damned if I'm going to let some damn crazy templar decide that she can just go ahead and kill my sister. No way is that happening.

Yeah, I basically want all mages to be in Circles watched over by templars who in turn are regulated by the Chantry but I sided with the mages at the end because of Bethany.

There is never a peaceful evolution of change, no matter what anyone thinks. Change takes people with a radical attitude to get things done. Look at our own histories, America for example, the Revolutionary war, the Civil War, etc. Yes we don't like terroism but I can understand why radicals resort to it. They think there is no other option to the oppression and I think they're right. Humans are too complacent.

Regulated by the chantry?  The entire game talks about rape and murder and templars going to a brothel.  Most of the templars were corrupt.  You only see a few good ones and they talk about how they don't want to be found out for aiding those who needed aid.  These aren't templars like Alistair.  The majority of the templars in Kirkwall are out of control.

I probably would've done the same thing with my Hawke. Blow up the Chantry, let the priests die (they discussed another Exalted March ffs). So bye bye Sebastian and his priest woman friend. I'll keep my extremist healer.

Although Anders such a bad character when compared to Awakenings. But I guess they couldn't have the joking funny guy be the terrorist. And it worked out in the end, drastic measures that lead to Mages freeing themselves all over.
