So, i'm having problems with properly completing this quest. I went with a more neutral route, and decided to give Merrill the relic to fix the Eluvian mirror. When I go back to speak to Merrill, there are two different conversations that happen. The first one is her thanking me for going with her to speak to the keeper. The second one is, for some reason, her angry with me for refusing to give her the item, and throwing me out of the house saying she never wants to speak to me again. This is the end result regardless of what dialogue choices I pick. I gave her the relic, and i've even reloaded the previous save to ENSURE that I gave it to her. Any ideas whether this is a common problem or not?
"Questioning Beliefs" - Act 2, Merrill sidequest problem. (Probable spoilers)

That definately did not happen to me and should not be happening to you.
No idea why it is if you gave her the relic

Yeah, I played through earlier on a rogue, and I *didn't* give her the relic, and that was the response I got... That's how I know that it's not supposed to happen now. =\\
I would REALLY hate to have to start the warrior over. It wouldn't take me an overly long time, but still... just urgh.

Semi-bump because i COMPLETELY forgot to add my system info in the OP, although I don't think any of it would have an effect.... it might. I'm playing the disc version of DA2. I am on an Asus laptop. Intel dual core, 1.3GHz processor. 2 gigs of RAM. Geforce G210M 512MB video card. DirectX11 (June 2010 or later).... although the DX11 doesn't work in DA2, but that's a well known issue.
Anyway, in spite of the... (relatively) crummy specs of my computer, the game runs perfectly well, and is smooth and clean at the Medium graphics setting... which is perfectly fine by me. Even with this particular quest, I can continue on just fine after the fact, i'm just not getting the proper turn in sequence for my decisions that I *should* be getting. Any ideas?

Maybe you should try redoing the mirror quest over again.

Well, my previous save point is just after I kill the Varterral... which i've reloaded several times and still get no luck with the turn-in going any differently. My last save before that is at the beginning of the year =\\ (some 4 levels prior) Sadly, I don't quick-save as much as I should.
