From what I read in the other thread, some people are already trying to make tools to read and modify the new formats that DA2 use. How are things going (I don't understand fully what you guys are discussing in the other thread)? Will you be able to extract resources from DA2 to be used in DA:O? Things that I'd be interested at are:
- Placeables and props
- Items, armour, weapons, clothing
- Sounds
- Visual Effects
- Animations
- Textures
- Levels (not possible I guess)
If $Bioware$ doesn't update the toolset (what became of their plans to make plugins possible for the DA:O toolset?), what kind of DA2 resources will we able to use in DA:O?

Porting models across would be feasible in the event that a fully DA2 compatible import script turns up (Eshme's, etc.). It would require a bit of extra work for animated models give the apparent differences (my understanding is that they are using new rigs). However, I'm pretty sure Bioware/EA would pour cold water on porting mods fairly quickly.

Same publisher and Developer, not like KotOR, should be fine.
