yes that's an excellent trade.  mages annihilate everything in combat and rogues are locksmiths.  maybe if bioware taught rogues how to be plumbers they could double their usefulness.

If i give you a lol  to the plumber thing  would you please respond to the question:   Why continue to whine?

because I want to.  the game's combat mechanics ARE broken.  not just slightly imbalanced, or "its a single player game so we didnt bother to fine tune the balance."  they are completely and totally shattered broken lying on the floor screaming in pain.

just for example baldur's gate 2 is vastly superior, of course for that they just transplanted the dnd system which DID HAVE balance considerations in it.  not perfect mind you, but the idea of balance isn't an evil concept in dnd.

I have read this before from you.  "becasue i want to" repeat yourself?  you know:

The combat mechanics are far from broken. I would suggest Learning To Play.

I'm getting exactly the results I desire.  a place where I can comment on how awful the combat mechanics in the game are.  of course I would have prefered to know that dragon age spent zero effort developing a deep and interesting combat system so I wouldn't have bought it.  but such is life.

considering I annihilate the game at nightmare difficulty in which manner would you consider me to be incapable of playing?  or was that just another throwaway insult by another ignorant person?

Ah, so you're just whining for the sake of whining then.

In that case, IFSW.

They got my money this time, but now I know Bioware doesn't give a damn about balancing gameplay so they'll have a harder sell for their next :P

I'm addressing the issue of awful unbalanced uninteresting and unfun combat mechanics that significantly reduce the adventure and excitement of my experience.

You're going to need to fit that into an acronym somehow, or he's not going to understand.

Well someone clearly has a "schism" in his frontal lobes. Thus let us shake our heads in pitty and move on. If they were to "nerf" the mage, would we expect them to re-write all of the lore pointing to the mage being " a very real threat" to all? Would we want the elimination of the templars? We would not need them to exist if everyone was the same level of threat. While were at it there is no real reason for the mage tower, mages could learn anywhere they pose no more of a threat than rogues. I guess they should just forget the whole idea of making games as they have failed so utterly with this one. Infact they should refund the cost of the game to us. I know one of us could use the money to buy more DOPAMINE.

You know you change one of the basic tenants of a game world you walk down a slippery slope.

Here's hoping you all have good mental health. Oh and FFS could you please call us ****'s so you could end this thread already.

The moral of the story.

To answer the original thread title, I don't think they'll be 'responding' as such, but I guess we just have to hope that they read the feedback and act accordingly. Maybe they're not allowed to talk about future changes or something, I dunno.

I guess lore only counts when it benefits mages.  seems to me there's a ton of lore about how everyone is totally appalled by blood magic, yet you can blood mage your heart out and no1 raises an objection.

also the very idea that the gamemakers created a broken and awful combat system because they think it matches the lore?  that's extremely offensive.

do you work for one of their competitors or something? Every reply you say its "broken and awful" do you get a bonus for reaching a quota?

No keep going Schyzm, maybe you'll get one of them to say how the lore dictates warriors and rogues should be useless again :P

it's amazing the seemingly random contortions that they will go into just because their fanboism won't let you diss their game.

Wow, OP, get over it. Bioware has stated that the game is balanced to their liking and plays the way they want it (for the most part). We are all very happy that you have figured out how to have your own opinion, but please keep it to yourself from now on. Good for you, you beat Nightmare! Now go beat it without a mage. It can be done. Then when you have accomplished this, come back and complain about how OP rogues and warriors are because you can beat the game without a mage.

Are you nuts? This is a public forum. I can state my opinion if I want to, bossy mossy. I never said I beat the game on Nightmare. I barely beat the origin story on easy. Just kidding. But go get over yourself telling people to keep their opinions to themselves on a public forum. Who you kidding?

The game is fine as is.

I got away from MMO to [Real] RPG due to no small part the constant amount of whining and nerf bats that swing left and right, only to create a far worse experience. Every other aspect of the gameplay eg. fun factor, lore, story, were sacrificed in the name of balance.

As so many others have pointed out, it's a single play! Stop whining, and fix the problem as you see fit. As for myself I do NOT see a problem, and do NOT want your idea of balanced forced upon me.

I'd suggest picking up an MMO if you want a baby sitter and nanny to put up with your incessant whining, those games have people paid to do just that. Plus there are a lot of others such as yourself, who lOoouuve to whine 24-7, they'd make you feel right at home! (Just check their forums.)

Whatever floats your boat, please leave my game alone. K, Thx!

That said, I've to agree, but the hat thingy. That's unless, mages are dorks with poor fashion sense is part of the lore, of course...

Wow. I read the last couple pages. I'm posting too. I think that makes me stupid. OK here goes.....

Schysm,

If you've beat the game on nightmare I'm pretty sure you're a glutton for punishment, becuase that usual means you're all about fine tuning the combat system. Which the thought of apparently leaves you a broken, bleeding, and curled in the fetal position on the floor. It's only a status token is you respect the system you beat. I don't won't to hear about how much your head hurts if you're pounding it against a wall.

I personally played the game for the storyline. The combat was promised as looking spectacular and gratuitously voilent, not revolutionary, or intuitively balanced.

As for the original topic of this forum, some bioware feedback would be nice. Some of the complaints here are valid, and fixing them would definately add replay enjoyment. But for god sake people. Don't whine about what you have unless your going to say what it is you want.

Sorry for the angst, just pissed about my wasted time.
