Might be a spoiler if you've not made it this so far, just to warn you.

So I'm trying to fight the Arishok as a 2 handed warrior on the hard difficulty.  Eventually I wipe out all the NPCs and he kills my whole party so it's 1 on 1.  Later on in the fight I start hitting him with my special attacks for 5k or so.  My normal hits with these are about 1200ish.  Is this normal?  Also, his health doesn't move at all and he eventually runs me out of health potions and kills me after I unload on him for like 10 minutes.

When he does the stab attack and lifts me in the air I fell through a wall and I got the achievement for killing the Arishok and my journal started updating but I still had a large angry Qunari coming at me.  This falling through a wall thing happened the first 3 battles so I have been able to keep him away from the walls unless he charges.

I can't kill this dude, even with Cleave, mighty blow, whirlwind combo with each special showing 4-5k on the floating numbers.

Whats your party like? Bring Anders and make sure he can revive fallen party members. Also I like him having cone of cold, winter's grasp, and crushing prison. Just keep casting those on the Arishock to slow him down. Try and hit the cross-class combos, any extra damage is helpful.

I have Anders and Merrill with me and it forced Aveline on me.

Is it normal for my damage to go up so high though? I thought it was really weird for the fights outside the building I did 1200 damage with mighty blow to 5k on the Arishok....

Fenris got my mage into a duel with the Arishok and I thought he was going to murder me, but I'd just petrify him, unload with all my heavy spells, then run him around until the cooldown on petrify refreshed. Took me about 5-7 iterations of petrify to get him down.

I used a similar tactic with most of the "bosses" in the game, although usually I'd just have Aveline pull aggro and run her around while my ranged characters spammed their attacks instead of messing about with petrify.

It really sounds like a glitch, because he doesn't have THAT much health.
