Here's the thing... my first play thought I have done all the quests, found all the little things dotted along the way and played nice with both sides to try and reach a way of not killing everyone in the end!...
this resulted in a big fail, This got me to thinking though, has anyone chosen to reject some quests? Not hand in that item I found to that shifty looking mage in the corner?
I'm intrested to see if you have and what did you get out of the story? or did just not matter?
Anyone NOT done everything?

You CANT reject quests. You can skip some, but all the quests that seemingly offer you the ability to decline, have to be done ANYWAY.

I'm starting to get the feeling I've been very pigeon-holed now.... if only for the fact that the choices are there to see if one of your team will friend or rival a little bit more

Lets put it this way, in Dragon Age: Origins. You had choice, you had so much choice it was crazy compared to this game.
In Dragon Age II, youre playing a movie. No matter what you do, the outcome is always the same.

Yep your right, just tried to do to the deep-roads without doing Shepherding the wolves quest and it pretty much told me I had to do it before I could move on.... pretty much has made me stop,
If I'm just going to repeat every quest with no real change in the plot.. I might as well go back and play DA:O and play though that to make some changes in what I encounter in this one... then what and see what the DLC turns up, was hopeing for more options in what could happen than massive *all be it lovely looking* end game fight where you can choose which side your on. pretty much the frist 2 parts of the game have no bareing on the 3rd what so ever.

Same. I had the quest Act of Mercy bugged out (Thraxx wasn't outside the cave anymore, couldn't complete it) so I just ignored it and moved on with the main plot to get cash for the deep roads.
After couple hours of that, I finally was ready for it...only to be told that no, I couldn't go down there because I needed to finish my business with Thraxx. No reason why, no link whatsoever with the Deep Roads, not even a hint.
So I spent HOURS playing around with my saves and save editor to try and flag the quest as finished, FINALLY succeeded, then could move on.
Very very annoyed
