I had this issue with DA1 earlier after using the toolset for a while. I circumvented it by just running the .exe which apparently ignored the launcher. That seems not to be the case for DA2, as there doesn't seem to be a way to skip the launcher application. I've deleted all traces of DA1 and the toolset I could find, but the issue still persists. Anyone facing similar issues?

Yeah...there is: doubleclick the DA2 executable in the bin_ship folder.  Works just fine for me.

No, this still gives me the "launcher application has failed" error. Meaning it's still using the launcher.

Is there some sort of shortcut command I can add to make it skip the launcher?

I don't know what to tell you. Double-clicking "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age™ II\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe" runs the game directly. The launcher is a different executable in a different directory.

I know there's a separate file for the launcher, but this exe definitely runs the launcher too.
Path: D:\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ii\\bin_ship
File: DragonAge2.exe
result: Launcher Application has stopped working.

I'm suspecting it has to do with steam. It seems as if running the .exe just tells steam to run the game, which by default is with launcher. So I guess the question is how to make steam run the exe

Oh, you're running through Steam? OK, sorry. Never used it, so I have no clue what it may or may not be doing. I do know this however: since you've registered the game, you can uninstall the Steam version, grab the EA Downloader and just get the regular digital edition. So long as you've registered, it doesn't care where you bought it from.
