If the countdown is the number of minutes until the Reaper invasion (i.e. ME3's release date), then that would translate to 211 days. However, because there are 365 days in a year, subtracting 211 from 365 yields 154 days, which in turn translates to approximately 5.13 months. 5.13 months into 2011 winds up being May 3-4th, which is Tuesday-Wednesday. That is, the official release date of Arrival.

Of course, this is just some wild speculation. I hope it comes out before then.

It's definitely something memorable, I'll hand that to them.

I do like how everyone is trying to claim that a QWERTY keyboard is indicative of a human location. Even the Migrant Fleet uses QWERTY keyboards.. as do all the other species with less than 10 fingers.

The numbers though.. they stand out to me. Just wish I knew what it meant!

Yeah, that whole QWERTY argument does nothng for me since there are only two types of keyboard in the game, and that one particular keyboard is used almost everywhere in the game Haestrom, Omega, the Citadel, the Migrant Fleet, etc.

I would imaging it to be either somewhere in Human space or in Batarian space. Since that's where the last few CDN messages seem to point to.

Unfortunately those pictures don't lend much information.

I think the number is a contdown.Maybee minutes: 304942/60 is approximately 5082 hours and per 24 hours its approx 211 days. So I think it means november, a possible date for the Reapers invasion, and the release date of Mass Effect 3... But it could be the price of a new, upgraded hamster in Shepards room... I dont know..

That's actually quite likely. So the DLC might tell us roughly how long until the Reapers arrive.

Maybe Shepherds at a quarry, and that's the price there offering him for all that left over ore we've got from the damn mining subgame..

lol @ how people always dig into things that makes no sense. Like there are no randomly flashing numbers changing every second in this game... all the loading screans and computer displays in ME2 are based on that.

Actually your completly wrong there Kusy!!  I found some randomly flashing stuff.

I was really looking into the pixels because I thought I saw a Reaper next to the mass relay.  So I kept on zooming in.  Then zoomed in some more. Then some more.  Then I found all these weird symbols below.

Not sure what to make of them

Honestly though as for 304,942. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was a distance measurement.

As of yet in this thread, we are transfixed by this number, and as so, I think we should keep on deciphering it in the context of what does it mean in terms of:
Astrophysics,
Elements,
Mathematics,
Physics,
Planetary movements,
Chemicals,
Time ( I know already done, but still...)

I know I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but I think we should try and pursue what the number means to get a better understanding of the image and the subsequent DLC, because from what I have learned about the pre-ME3 trailer, BioWare did use those other 'red-herrings' as well.

Any Physicists or Mathematicians out there on the forums? Cooee!!!!!

In ME2 on the Relay loading screens a lot of numbers flash back and forth(randomly I assume) to give the idea that it's techy and whatnot. Since it's static, we don't know if it's throwing random numbers at Shepard like this loading screen. We'll find out, I guess. Just thought I'd show this screenshot I took.

@BlackAdder: We've already explained this number from an astrophysical, mathematical, and time perspective. Look around in the other threads in the Spoilers forum.

EDIT: Silmane wins this contest!

Definitely too high to be an element's molecular weight.. think we've covered most of the other bases. Hey nice find, Silmane!

I can see it already.. Shepherd takes the team out for a bonding session before ME3!

Featuring the renegade interrupt option to "Snatching the soy sauce from Jack" and paragon option of "Handling the bill"...

I can't freaking wait!!! Image IPB

The only difference is the number in Silmane's photo ends with a 62, whereas the original number ends with a 42.

Hey, thanks guys. I went frame by frame and that number was in the bunch. There's about 30+ numbers that run through the loading screen. I'm going to safely assume that the number does not mean a thing and when we play the game, many numbers are going to scroll on that screen where Shepard is standing.

It's generating hype like crazy and I could be wrong, but I just don't see it meaning anything. Movie makers and game devs throw crazy numbers in video screens and stuff like that to give you that big scifi feel. Bioware knew releasing a static shot of a number would do this, too.

Edit: Turns out it's a select group of numbers that just repeat, even on Normandy loading screens. Only time will tell if that number really means anything.

I knew it! It's not a game screen, it's a loading screen. Oh Bioware :(

I know you're being sarcastic and all, but trust me, I know the difference between the two. The number in the Arrival DLC picture means nothing and you can come back later on and tell me otherwise if I'm wrong.
