Iirc information and dialogue surrounding the derelict reaper vessel in ME2 states that smaller groups of Reapers went on separate seek and destroy missions. Therefore the entire Reaper fleet assembled in a single star system at some point in time seems highly unlikely to me.
I'm assuming the Reapers will know every relay's location and their initial goal will be the Citadel since having access to the central administration will be immensely valuable for a seek n destroy operation. Assuming only the Citadel relay can perform the enormous jump from Dark Space or perhaps even other Galaxies into ours I'd think the fleet will split up and fly towards our galaxy's relays closest to their location(s) in Dark Space and wreak havoc.
Initially I was thinking along those lines as well, but more like diverting the assault on the Citadel to Sol, but now I start thinking about it a little more I may have to return on that

Okay it may just be the effect of looking through a window but still, it could be something impacting the planet.

That's no moon. It's a space station!

304942 x 50,000 , a cycle = 15 billion age of universe? 304942 , number of Reapers.
The universe is 13.7 billion years old, so that would equal 274000 reapers using your equation. That is, however, making an enormous reaper-sized assumption that synthetic squids have been around since the big bang, and that they goo a single species into a new reaper every cycle (and only one per cycle). I think we can fairly well assume that reapers didn't simply appear as a natural result of the universe. They're machines. Someone or something either created them or turned into them. That is, unless you'd like to posit that reapers are some sort of extra-dimensional beings that entered our universe from some other universe or brane. But that seems far fetched even in Bioware's realm of existence which includes FTL and biotics fueled by "eezo."
I doubt the number is how many reapers we're up against. If it is... can you say deus ex machina? 100 reapers would be a tough enough fight, but thousands (let alone hundreds of thousands!) would be completely implausible. What the number is I don't know. It could be the number of relays or relay routes. The display shows a relay, we know the doctor is working on stuff related to relays, and we know the reapers' plan of attack includes systematically shutting down the relays to cull individual systems. Anything besides that is pure speculation. I do enjoy reading the different speculation on this forum; there's some really neat ideas. But I kinda hope Bioware surprises us with something out of left field.

Right before the barrel are the letters VTX. When it is folded up, only the T and X are visible.
