I would have to say DW give archers a run for their money. Get a couple of good daggers and pump up Speed+Power in specialist tree and you have yourself nasty DPS that can stunlock anything that can be stunned.

You completely missed the point. It was only meant as an illustration of what Punishing Lance can actually do in the game.

Of course my original post was also a joke, since enemies don't generally stand around in a straight line waiting to be instagibbed.

having seen this point i decided to give a archer a try...... OMG its crazy, even at low levels the damage done is far and away better then a mage or 2h warrior , all that and your nice and far away from the enemy not getting isnta gibed like a melee rogue. Maybe they dont have the AOE capability of those but its still pretty damn impressive.  I hadnt really been that interested in a rogue Hawke but now......


so u think a all rogue group, Varric, Sabastien, ranged Hawke and Duelist Isabela would work (on say Hardcore?)

I guess so but I'd honestly rather have a warrior or something (doesn't have to be a tank in the traditional sense) grabbing the attention of the mobs. Rogues do good damage, but they get butchered when they get threat. And if you have 4 rogues, a rogue is going to have threat at all times.

True, but Isabela has some nice abilities that can let her tank a a degree. Besides with the wide area of incomeing waves. Its hard for a tank to really hold arrgo. Unless you have your tank tacticed just right and even then CD could still ruin it.

I loved getting 10k crits on my Archer, could basically knock out any mob on Hard in 1 shot, followed by the lance which 1 shot multiple lesser enemies. After a while even Hard was too easy.
