How nice to have a forum for registered game owners! Here's hoping for an absence of giraffe dogs.

So that this post has an actual topic - what are some of your favourite non-spoilery bits of dialogue in DAII? Bioware's dialogue writing has always been fantastic, and this game is no exception. Here are a few of mine:

"Be a real pet! Ignore me until you want something and then sit on my head."

"You have designated frolicking zones?"

"Thank you for listening. So few animals take an interest in Dalish history."

"Why do I keep making friends with people who want to spend all their free time in the bloody Deep Roads?"

And there's a lot of great banter! Like:

"You don't notice Qunari, Templars or politics but you notice cats?"

"Quanari, Templars and politics don't miaow and try to attack your feet when you're buying food."

Hope that's not spoilery!

Lots of funny dialogue in this game.  I liked the part when Varric asks Sebastian why he has a picture of Andraste on his crotch.

Anything between Varric and Merill cracks me up.

I think you're thinking of Anders, unless Varric points it out too. I remember because that conversation had me in stiches :). Apparently Anders had the same 'I like the armor, but WTF IS THAT THING?' reaction to Sebastian's outfit I did.

Currently I am travelling with Sebastian, Anders and Merrill. It is like the 'make fun of Sebastian' hour all day and night. (I have a suspicion that any party with Sebastian could end up like that ...)

I think it was Anders and he asked "Is that the face of Andraste you are wearing on your crotch?"

Oh yeah, it was Anders. I like how Varric always calls Sebastian "choir boy."

I cannot imagine what it would be spoiling, unless one of the Isabela companion quests I haven't got to yet involves revealing this earth-shattering secret. Somehow I doubt this.

The Arishok:

"They keep laying the blame at our feet."

Merril:

"Why, what did your feet do?"

I love the one conversation between Fenris and Merril when she asks him if he stepped on a nail or hit his head on a low beam.

That had me rolling for a while.

Conversations between Varric and Merrill is by far the most entertaining. I love how he calls her "Daisy".

And let me add:

Isabela: "I should embroider that on my tunic!"

(Flynn) Hawke: "Clean sheets are overrated."

I think the conversations between Isabella and Merrill are the best.  One continously makes sexual references and innuendo and the other is too naive to understand them.

There is no contest. Well, not imo at least. B)

Thanks for the forum, much appreciated. Lot's of good ones that is for sure. Aveline and Isabela have some good ones. Both Isabela and Varric are often looking out for poor naive Merrill.

This one is not inter party banter but I just know that I'm going to use the 'By the Dread wolf!' line of Merrills.

Yeah Merril and Varric together are hilarious, like when Merril complains about getting lost in Kirkwall:

Varric: Do you remember to bring the ball of string I gave you when you leave your house?

I absolutely love the fact that your character changes tone depending on the choices you make in dialouge.

My first playthrough was with a diplomatic/helpful female warrior and she would say something like "I believe this is yours/I found something of yours" when delievering an item she had found in Kirkwall.

My second playthrough I am playing an aggressive male mage and when he's delievering some item he found he said something like "Your lost garbage, serah". I couldn't stop laughing when I heard it (I guess a lot of credit goes to the VA for delievering it so well also), and it seemed so fitting to my character. :D

I like Isabela xD

-Bethany: So... you've been with women... in bed?
-Isabela: Shocking, isn't it? You see, sweetness, men are only good for one thing, women are good for six.
-Bethany: Six? Which six?
-Hawke: Isabela!

That makes me curious to @_@
