Why does the game force you to begin with shield bash? What possible use is it to a player wanting to build a two-handed warrior? Why are you penalised for not choosing a shield?
I understand all mages having to start with arcane bolt...but the warrior thing is a complete mystery to me...am I the only person confused by this?

If you are building a human noble it is just part of the origin, or at least that is my understanding.

The dwarf warrior is forced to have it too.

Dalish, I think, get an automatic Archery talent, too..
There is one free talent that you get no matter what. It's better than not having it, I suppose. Don't worry about comparison to other characters - this is a single player game. So long as it works for you, you don't need to change it.

There is a mod to work around this. WRK_Respec_Potion_Mod_15
Search for it in projects. I will say this now, however. For your purposes, it's quite useless. You won't get to respec until after your origin story is completed.
