Ever felt bad about all those massacres?

The Eclipse girl during Samara's recruit boasts about what fun it was to kill an unarmed Volus.
So, no.

Besides, most mercs you're able to talk to are cold-blooded killers who seem like they'd be likely to shoot their own mom for the right price.

It's either them or us.

Using ammunition that sets fire to people is morally and legally questionable (at least by modern standards). Isn't that kind of thing against the Geneva convention?
Yes, it's a big violation of the Geneva (or Hague) Conventions. I think there was a huge deal about US troops using white phosphorous (modern day equivalent of Inferno ammo) on Iraqi troops in the 2003 invasion. Of course, nothing came of it, Vae Victus and all.
Maybe there are no Geneva or Hague Convention rules in the future. Or maybe efficient weapons trumped morality.

No.
Never felt bad about cleansing the galaxy from filth. No regrets. And how tangos die is merely a tactical decision, their pain is as irrelevant as it is deserved.

I cringe a little if they scream too much.
Sucks to be a mook, man.
One of the female voice actors for the goons screams very sensually so I actually got my relatives watching me play one time out of "modest curiosity".
I prefer to alternate, either burning them to cinders or freezing and shattering them into a million little pieces of icy goodness. Also love to use Disruptor Ammo to make them explode when I get successful headshots.

Well, they shouldn't have attacked me.

Yes, you are alone Nyoka. I've never stopped and given any one of them a second thought, they had weapons, they attacked me so they're dead, that's all there is to it.
I find it an odd statement to claim he/she is alone when there are clearly other people in this very thread that have stated similar inclinations.
Stop thinking that your personal opinion is universal. It's presumptious, to say the least.

I'm starting to feel a bit troubled about the way cannon fodder dies in ME2. A few bullets is one thing, but get someone paralyzed, slammed into the floor and then set on fire is a whole different level of sadism. The powers are there, I guess it would be stupid not to use them...but still... have you ever felt bad about how you kill?
Have you ever pulled one of those security mechanic guards around and then shot it with the Eviscerator? They don't just die, they explode in tiny pieces.
Or say you land in a mining planet, one of those non marked mini quests. Suddenly a group of salarians shows up shooting at you. After some bullet exchange, Jack shockwaves them, making them fall to the floor, stunned. Then you throw the inferno grenade and the whole group die screaming, surrounded by fire.
Am I alone here?
While it doesn't bother me, as most of the people that are dying are terrible people, I wouldnt mind being able to AVOID fights given that shouldn't exactly be impossible when I'm running with a crew of stealthninjas, hackers, and an everpresent AI and in the real world such gameplay has been proven possible for more than a decade.

Nope, never have. You shoot or pick a fight with SR-2 personnel and you get dead.
Just for information...so you've NEVER fired first. At least for Soliders and Infiltrators that seems unlikely.

lol thank you for proving my prejudices wrong. I was personally biased against Paragons because their righteous, holier-than-thou attitude leads people to justify their actions because after all they are Good and their enemies are Bad (they are part of "the Axis of Evil", so to speak). Renegades on the other hand would have a more ambivalent attitude in terms of morality and death and see mercs and such cannon fodder as unlucky, regular guys. That was what I believed before your comment anyway. Not so sure nowGolden Owl wrote...
Nyoka...I'm like you, I feel troubled also....Because of this, I have worked on whittling my head shots down to a fine art using the Widow and my Shepard never uses incineration or incendiary ammo (I like the cryo most) and quickly picks off any opposition that my squad members may have set on fire. Yes, people may laugh at me for this(I know my husband certainly does
), after all it is only a game, but I can't help being caught up in it. And yes I play the ultimate paragon, always working on ways to avoid as many renegade points he picks up in ME2 as I'm able :innocent:.

Nyoka, gotta disagree with you there, if I felt my Shepard was playing the holier-than -thou card I would run a renegade.....In real life, there would be very few people who see themselves as inherently evil, everyone justifies their own causes and actions and depending on which side of the fence other people stand on, they either recieve support or condemnation or both, all coming down to matters of perception..... As per Sheps conversation with Garrus, there is no black and white, just a lot of grey. I see paragon Shep as more just trying to lessen the misery he is already a part of in the Galactic community....Thats my take anyway.

Unfortunately, given how expansive all the dialogue is, I think there are differeing opinions among the writers of exactly what a paragon means. Because sometimes that Shep can come off as a real tool. Though I still hate that I can't come up with a better argument on Horizon than just being a jerk regardless of what you try. I know you couldn't win, but then I'd rather NOT talk with them if I wasn't able to put together a better argument than I was provided by the writers (becuase I WAS even before the dialogue choices came up).
