Also the timing when DA 2 ( rightly or wrongly ) is getting flamed a lot does make it seem like a action taken for mysterious "cloak and dagger" reasons

It comes down to this, would you rather only hear opinions of people who like
your game or dislike it? If people's opinions who dislike it are heard they might
gain some more sales in DLC, by tweaking the game and taking them onboard. As
it stands though it seems they are hiding, quite funny really.
No, it actually doesnt come down to that. Register your game and go have a look for yourself. There are plenty of posts critical of the game. However, some folks are just going to believe what they want, facts be damned.
Are some of you politicians?

Nope. Not so long as the 360 and PS3 versions use infinitely-reusable, non-unique UPC codes to register. Then they've got as many shots as they care to take.
Well, crap. Hopefully it will be enough of an inconvenience that they'll move on to something else.
I'm sure board security was easier when Bioware just had one platform to worry about.

So you
can register as an owner, your owners code is NOT unique, but be very
careful what you say, it's worse than Germany 1932-1945 with the Gestapo
here.
Hyperbole much? Possibly banning people, even if these conspiracy theories are correct, is hardly comparable to the Shutzstaffel. Or did Priestly and Woo arrive at your door and shoot you and your family?

Its probably because those who actually own the game and have it registered wouldnt dare speak bad about it. Having an oppinion means you get banned on this website.

Then again, that happens to me with some games.. just never this soon after starting to play and never Bioware's games. I even beat Jade Empire's and NWN's vanilla campaign's.

This is a great move, seriously. This way they try to force people into registering the game so they can more easily ban them and restrict their access to the game. Bioware is more and more reminding me of the country i live in. Only....70 years ago.
Smile or you get banned.... That's one way to deal with people being negative.
Negativity has not (nor will it ever) gotten anyone banned.
What does get someone banned is insulting their fellow community members, disregarding the site's TOS insofar as discussions about things such as piracy are concerned and repeated spamming.
We don't mind if you're unhappy about the game. What we do mind is when you break the site rules that you agreed to when you signed up, or when you attack your fellow community members because you don't agree with their opinion. And those apply equally to people who are happy with the game and who are unhappy with the game.
But if you really do think that we're systematically banning the dissenters, then I suppose nothing I can tell you could change your mind. I'd imagine the large number of people who remain unbanned would be proof enough, though.

I actually considered registering just because of my base dislike for being ignored.... and thats basically what is being said by making that new forum.
All the opinions on here no longer matter to them I guess.

You didn't get the message when Laidlaw called everyone who didn't like the game children or 4chan trolls?

Not entirely sure its just 1 person you know. 1 Guy prolly started it and some other kids felt empowered that they could help spam a busy forum so joined in.

OK, for the nth time: console copies register with UPC codes, which means anyone can register "their" game regardless of whether or not they actually own a copy. Those codes are all non-unique, and thus infinitely reusable. Conceivably, you could have more registered copies than actually exist. It's like this with pretty much all recent Bioware games. The only platform that actually has unique reg codes is the PC.

Yeah, except for all the people doing exactly that in the registered game forum. And failing to get banned after doing so. I mean, sheesh: is it that hard to fact-check when it's on the SAME website?

A forum for talking about the game that is restricted to people who own the game. Seen as the non-registered owners forum is still running I realy see no issue with this.
non registration has nothing to do with not owning the game ... registered promotions (aka day 1 DLC) is enogh evidence

Regardless of what you feel registering
means to you, it doesn't have to reflect any sort of support for the
game. It just shows exactly what it does, that you own the game or at
least took the effort into registering it's UPC code. It's unfortunate
but the backlash has been a little bit too extreme for me to have too
much sympathy. There's a point where you disagree with what direction a
franchise has taken and just outright elementary behavior. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]
You need to activate the game anyway + day 1 DLC been registered on the forums ... so an additional registration of the game on the forum is excatly that showing support or not ... nothing more nothing less as the proof of licence owner ship has already been done. All you are doing is telling everyone else that you bought it ... therefore supporting the product. nothing more nothing less ... and honestly if seen enough "elementary behaviour" on both side of the fence. As one could not critizses the game without being labeled "whiner" just as much as being called "fanboy" if you dare to express that you actuall found the game fantastic. So that doesn't count as an argument either ... granted you get the other side as well as in great nice civil behaviour as well.
