People need to stop spreading the lie that people are being banned for expressing negative opinions. The mere fact that there are as many negative posts extant as there are puts the lie to that. the only reason people are being banned are for violating forum rules by acting like entitled jerks.

I feel like I am "entitled" to play a decent game that I paid $60+ for. I'm a "jerk" because it wasn't good. Yay! I should be banned-- Oh wait I was! Thankfully I didn't register my game or I may have lost my freedom to play it!

Actually, you're free to talk about why you do or don't like DA2. If the only means by which you can communicate your dislike is through repeated vulgarity or racial/sexual/whatever insults, especially after being asked several times to be more civil, then you will likely find your ability to post here restricted. Why is that so unreasonable?

Apparently I am not. I got banned out of the blue, not a single note of warning. I never cursed or was vulgar. You can check my posting records. & I was never told why

Viva la Re-Volus-ion!

I find that hard to believe, since you're here posting right now.

I was banned for a day. The only thing that can think of that would have gotten me banned was I asked Stanley Woo if he had changed his avatar from a volus to Death's Hand, because of my "Re-Volus-ion"

Well I got an automated warning for using a word that's not even considered one of the common vulgarities...it had to do with politics in the US, and it was a word a certain political group used to describe themselves before realizing it was already a slang term for sexual activities...anyways, I can only assume the reason I got reported and my account got flagged with a TOS violation is because I trod on some delicate flower's political sensibilities. It's possible--if you're not outright lying about your innocence--that someone did the same to you. Yay for automated TOS violation reporting. <_<

Strange move by Bioware. I personally don't see the need or purpose to segregate this way. If peeps are worried by spoilers, that can be solved with the banhammer and not creating a separate forum.

And I think have you have picked a very poor time to create this forum, the game has certainly brewed up a huge firestorm of likes/dislikes, and with this action you are just throwing wood to the fire :P Especially considering that the no other games have this special forum.

Also, will future games receive the same treatment?

Isn't it possible to look at my past posts? Anyone is free to look at my history.

I think it is a valid move to filter people that didn't play the game but voice their opinion nonetheless. And if someone with an unregistered copy but an bioware account doesn't like that, why don't they register their copy and join? They already have an account here, so what's the problem?

Because I may have registered the game on another computer that I share with my spouse so I can't re-register the game on my account?

Good move. The negativity on this forurm is fine when the arguments make sense, but currently general is oversaturated with trolls and bandwagoners that love to leap to irrational conclusions just to fuel their hate about anything Bioware. Case in point the OP.

Yeah I don't understand the point in making a big deal over having two general discussions. Two general discussions does not mean bioware is trying to segregate the negative comments. That implies that you feel all the negative comments come from people who don't own the game, and that would be a damn shame. I would like to think criticisms of the game are accurate and come from people who have played. The opinions are causing me to abstain from purchasing this game.

The discussions in the registred game owners forums tend to be a bit more mature. Just saying ;)
Try it it can be refreshing

Not true.  You can use the UPC (everyone has the same UPCs) on any account.  You can make a million accounts and use the same UPC as everyone else is.

You can walk into a GameStop, look at the back of the box, and BAM there's the UPC right there under the bar code.

Or you could just google if you don't feel like going to the store.

Segregating the boards doesnt make a whole lot of sense since anyone who is a "cheap ass gamer" can type "Dragon Age 2" into Google and get the UPC.

the people are of a higher calibre that post in the elite section of the board. you will be spotted and reported almost before you hit the submit button.

You know, the reg forum is open to view and we can still read the "discussions",
and that all the so called "trolls" used the console generic reg key and went there to leave us all here in peace.
So in reality the "trolls" are now over there.

So if you wanted maturity its now here and not there :D

Then again theres 2 types of troll, theres the provocative and antagonistic, both commit the same crimes, but each thinks they are justified in doing it.

Theres only ever been one defence against trolling, ignore it and look at replys with better eyes.

I have no problem with anyone who owns the game, played through to the end with an open mind, and still didn't enjoy it. You can't please everyone, and I respect (though I disagree with) their opinion. I do have a problem with people who didn't even play the game or only played the demo coming on here and bashing the game based on hearing that there were changes to it or based on the lousy demo. And as far as people who haven't finished the game all I would say to them is if asked halfway through whether I liked Origins better I would have said yes, but after I completed the game I changed my mind.

100% this.

This is one of the most stupid things repeated over and over on this forum.

If the game bores me after one hour WHY do I have to force myself to play further??? I play for FUN and if the game is no fun I quit and start playing something I do enjoy. Playing a game from the beginning to the end is not the reason why I play video games -  I play them because I enjoy the gameplay. And if I don't I do not play it. Understood?
It is an entertainment and if it fails to entertain me I turn it off. Same goes for any other kind of entertainment: movies, books etc. They bore me - I quit them - there is enough decent stuff out there to not waste once time fore something bad or medicore.
Also: If you take a bite of a spoiled sanwitch do you have to eat it all to confirm that you do not like how it taste or are you done after first bite?

been sat on a toilet after the wifes "cooking" with my rear in tatters wishing i had followed that ethos

OK so let me get this straight, you are so sick of people telling you that you have failed that you only want to hear the "registered" owners? What's next?

"Registered Game Owner Who Like Dragon Age II and he will write that he likes it thread"?

The epic failure of Dragon Age II is only surpassed by the fact that you honestly think that this game is good. Sorry for being so harsh however from all the great bioware rpgs I have played this is the worst by far.

EA/Bioware, is becoming very adept at alienating members of  its fanbase. Two forums just serve to further divide the community.

Dragon Age 2 is no good. I pre-ordered the game, I gave Bioware the benefit of the doubt despite the rumors and I wasted 60 bucks on an incomplete game which will likely release tons of DLC that were suppose to be in the original game and charge you for it.

Since the border crowd and those who like fast-action passed games out number those who want quality RPGs Bioware will target them now. Our opinions don't matter anymore.

The border crowd will continue to reward Bioware by spending no telling how much on incomplete games, setting the precedent to create more incomplete games.

The RPG community is strongly divided over this game, whereas the border crowd is not.

Suppressing free speech? You don't have free speech on a private messageboard, guy. And you agreed to those terms when you registered here. Deal with it.

It is not privately VIEWED. Sure there is a fine line about freedom of speech and Bioware does control this forum, but anybody can come on here and VIEW the posts they just can't post without an account. If this was completely private then only registered users of the forum would be able to view and post. Kinda like myspace where your profile can be made private for no one to look at anything besides certain content. I know bad example, no one uses myspace anymore but it got my point across.
