It doesn't stop people from posting what they dislike or what they like. It give game owners a place to discuss their likes and dislikes without non-owners getting involved.

In otehr words, it isn't the "post here if you like it" forum. It is the "post here if you bought it" forum.

What will you be doing to keep the "post here if you bought it" types out of THIS forum?

I don't "hate" anything. I am just disappointed that a sequel to an epic game which I have enjoyed to the fullest has been transformed to some medieval fps.

In order to be a FPS aren't guns involved? Just putting it out there.

Yes, however my post was ironic, therefore you could consider mage spells and bows as guns, and melee weapons as knifes. Is this fps enough for you?

BTW: The general assumption that people who registered this game wouldn't speak out against it is bull****. These people are actually the ones having played the game and many of them are not pleased. If at all the opinions from these players should be worth more. But in reality of course the quality of their posts is all over the place, just everyone elses.

QFT. What I was trying to say.

I encourage this 'segregation,' because 1) some of the great, lasting criticisms of this game by registered gamers have been drowned out by people without consistent views, threadlocking, and dogman and 2) people who are complete fanboys can remain in a section of the forum where they will not influence those who come here trying to decide whether to buy the game or not.

As a liberatarian who supports individual consumers rights quite strongly I would have to disagree. When making up your mind on whether you like a game, or discussing things with fellow gamers, peoples opinions who like and retain their copy, or dislike and have given it up or rented should both be taken into account in equal measure.

If that is the real reason for it, if however it is for trolls and such like:

Moderators should remove trolls and people who post 1 picture nonesense, if they need help, I know a hundred people who would be glad to get rid of some of the trolls. Segregating the community further helps no one long term. I can see a short term boost for sales, but a long term bad trend overall.

I can understand why they've done this. Alot of topics here were being overlooked because of the dissapointment ones, the conspiracy/paranoia, the spam, and the dozens of clones of each.

Don't agree with it though, for various reasons.

I completely agree with this move by Bioware. Since launch there has been an absurd flooding of spam and childish people who create a hundred accounts just to spam the same nonsense over and over or just troll the forum.

I'm much happier knowing that only game owners can post here... hopefully it will reduce some of the unproductive blabbering and lead to more constructive discussion on what we would like to see in future games, rather than a place for adults to behave like raging toddlers.

Well... it makes a much more neutral territory. where peoples speak equally... and where Fanhaters can't multi-account to insult the game.

and we're finally done with the stupid Giraffe-Dog spam ! :alien:

But it's just the code off the back of the case.

It is not unique and every single consumer in each country has the same code, I could post the code and 10,000 people register using it.

503093009XXXX is the same code for every single copy sold in the UK, it proves nothing that I know it.

It is printed on the back of the DVD case, you could pick up a display case in any retailer, note the code and register here as an owner.

How does entering a code that is not unique and is printed outside of the box prove some one owns a game or not. I for instance have only rented DAO but I'm able to register as an owner. When I return my rental and the next person rents it, they will also be able to register as an owner.

You know when the PR backlash goes in full swing you're not going to feel like such a smartass.

At first i hated watching this **** happen to Bioware, but after watching how you and Stanley Woo represent the rest of your colleagues, i'm think it's going to be entertaining at least.

This is a weird thing to 'ROFLYAO' at. I'm a hobbyist music producer, and most virtual instrument websites have forums for everyone and then registered owners. I doubt that's part of a censorship agenda either. Seems logical to me.

However, seen as everyone is moaning about it, I'll throw my hat in and say the mods decisions do seem to be a little weird here. I had a topic closed which was clearly asking for clarification from detractors on what exactly the specific flaws are. The reason was I was 'spamming by complaining about spam'. Even a skim would have revealed I wasn't doing either thing and nor were most of the replies, so that's a bit puzzling.

Its probably because those who actually own the game and have it registered wouldnt dare speak bad about it. Having an oppinion means you get banned on this website.

To speak bad and to insult are a whole universe of different.

Now, if someone wants to troll that section of the forum, they must be ready to sacrifice their real account instead of being a coward (and/or someone with common sense) and create a fake one to troll. A good change considering the failure that many people are in the area of "self-restraint" when "showing concern".

Interesting... I have registered copies of ME, ME2 and Dragon Age: Origin (and Jade Empire on Steam as well)...

A friend of mine lend me a copy of DA 2 to test it for review on our RPG megazine online... So now i'm asking to create the same "owner" thread on the forums of the games above (so i can bash ME for the dumbed direction it takes as a so called "RPG")... I'm feeling a little insulted by your statement, i was a loyal customer of yours... I think i will bash your attitude on my review for that and some other things i can call unforgivable...

Im ok with that , as long as they don't ban my registered account ... Again ...I feel safe posting on my other 2 accounts , yes i bought 3 copies of the original ... but after being banned from the forums on day 2 for posting what was a quite negative review ... and hearing that one guy couldn't play ..not that i really mind at this point ...

It  tells me that Bioware really believes that they are being raided ... and that the game they produced isn't total garbage..... but i can see their point ... they probably have more negative reviews than copies sold at this point.....

I'm a libertarian myself, but I follow that philosophy because I believe it creates the best outcome for society. As such, a society that does not follow those principles is doomed to fail. In the case of a government, that's a bad thing; in the case of a company, it's enlightening. That's why we allow companies to make asses of themselves while not allowing our government to do the same.

Should they attempt to segregate in an attempt to stiffle decent, it really only encourages it for the 2 reasons I posted previously.

I have no problem with anyone who owns the game, played through to the end with an open mind, and still didn't enjoy it. You can't please everyone, and I respect (though I disagree with) their opinion. I do have a problem with people who didn't even play the game or only played the demo coming on here and bashing the game based on hearing that there were changes to it or based on the lousy demo. And as far as people who haven't finished the game all I would say to them is if asked halfway through whether I liked Origins better I would have said yes, but after I completed the game I changed my mind.

100% this.

This is one of the most stupid things repeated over and over on this forum.

If the game bores me after one hour WHY do I have to force myself to play further??? I play for FUN and if the game is no fun I quit and start playing something I do enjoy. Playing a game from the beginning to the end is not the reason why I play video games -  I play them because I enjoy the gameplay. And if I don't I do not play it. Understood?
It is an entertainment and if it fails to entertain me I turn it off. Same goes for any other kind of entertainment: movies, books etc. They bore me - I quit them - there is enough decent stuff out there to not waste once time fore something bad or medicore.
Also: If you take a bite of a spoiled sanwitch do you have to eat it all to confirm that you do not like how it taste or are you done after first bite?

Yeah, but isn't Stanley Woo the amusing one? His obsession over lines, and all the fan art thats come out.

Chris is just smug.

Both are amusing, but then you realize these guys are pretty much representing Bioware on these forums and they're atrocious at it.

Great idea! There's enough spam and hate around this forum, that I'm glad that I can go to a place where I can be assured that IF there is hate of the same kind there, it's at least coming from people who bought the game.
