Delusions of granduer much? I'm sure you aren't nearly as irritating to them as you think you are.

It comes across a bit like circling the wagons, but their forums, their rules. I can understand why for this particular game they'd want to provide folks who have registered the game a separate place to discuss their impressions.

I used to work at a movie theater and some of the screens were designated for people 18+ only. The teeny boppers got their own screens to talk, squeal, use cellphones, and all that jazz. Yes, I'm comparing a lot of the trolling and meme spamming to teeny boppers. People who register their games are more likely to have reasonable conversations instead of reading post after post from an avatar created yesterday.

I have no problem with anyone who owns the game, played through to the end with an open mind, and still didn't enjoy it. You can't please everyone, and I respect (though I disagree with) their opinion. I do have a problem with people who didn't even play the game or only played the demo coming on here and bashing the game based on hearing that there were changes to it or based on the lousy demo. And as far as people who haven't finished the game all I would say to them is if asked halfway through whether I liked Origins better I would have said yes, but after I completed the game I changed my mind.

100% this.

This is one of the most stupid things repeated over and over on this forum.

If the game bores me after one hour WHY do I have to force myself to play further??? I play for FUN and if the game is no fun I quit and start playing something I do enjoy. Playing a game from the beginning to the end is not the reason why I play video games -  I play them because I enjoy the gameplay. And if I don't I do not play it. Understood?
It is an entertainment and if it fails to entertain me I turn it off. Same goes for any other kind of entertainment: movies, books etc. They bore me - I quit them - there is enough decent stuff out there to not waste once time fore something bad or medicore.
Also: If you take a bite of a spoiled sanwitch do you have to eat it all to confirm that you do not like how it taste or are you done after first bite?

been sat on a toilet after the wifes "cooking" with my rear in tatters wishing i had followed that ethos

Aren't a bunch of people already doing that anyway? Another forum won't make a whit of difference.

All of this would probably be a non-issue if not for the fact that the guy who got banned and had registered his DA2 got banned from his game as a result.

Between the bad customer relations, faked reviews & ban sprees, you don't think people are entitled to be a little weary? I don't think it matters anyway, i think people will still hate on the game until Bioware actually starts communicating with the community again. At the moment they're just letting fanboys fight their fight for them. Again.

theres a big difference between Priestlys "chuckling" devil and woo`s "so stfu" end of line stamping.

ones amusing,
ones annoying.

Yeah, but isn't Stanley Woo the amusing one? His obsession over lines, and all the fan art thats come out.

Chris is just smug.

Both are amusing, but then you realize these guys are pretty much representing Bioware on these forums and they're atrocious at it.

easy to tell, show me a post where monseur priestly deliberatley pith`s anyone off ?
smug ? i dont see it myself, well not from him.

but then again, what does it look like when a mod says in the same reply
"if you have a problem,pm a mod"
then says right after
"i wont be replying to you if you do"
now THATS smug
but that wasnt either of those two.

BTW: The general assumption that people who registered this game wouldn't speak out against it is bull****. These people are actually the ones having played the game and many of them are not pleased. If at all the opinions from these players should be worth more. But in reality of course the quality of their posts is all over the place, just everyone elses.

QFT. What I was trying to say.

I encourage this 'segregation,' because 1) some of the great, lasting criticisms of this game by registered gamers have been drowned out by people without consistent views, threadlocking, and dogman and 2) people who are complete fanboys can remain in a section of the forum where they will not influence those who come here trying to decide whether to buy the game or not.

As a liberatarian who supports individual consumers rights quite strongly I would have to disagree. When making up your mind on whether you like a game, or discussing things with fellow gamers, peoples opinions who like and retain their copy, or dislike and have given it up or rented should both be taken into account in equal measure.

If that is the real reason for it, if however it is for trolls and such like:

Moderators should remove trolls and people who post 1 picture nonesense, if they need help, I know a hundred people who would be glad to get rid of some of the trolls. Segregating the community further helps no one long term. I can see a short term boost for sales, but a long term bad trend overall.

This...well said sir

Funny how no one has posted on that thread yet. Perhaps people are really afraid to get banned and not have the ability to play the game. I guess in the EA world the borrowing and renting or playing your spouse's copy of the game means you have no rights to have a formal opinion of it.

This two forum thing is nonsense, maybe they don't want registered owners posting about how awful they find the new game and people new to the forum seeing it.

Probably. Still odd that they create it one day after their last-ditch attempt to ban me didn't work...

Aye I made a 'I don't own this game' thread in there. I don't, but I have played it and am registered as an owner, but I've never owned it.

I don't think it's opened, yet.

Pretty awful idea anyway, if people goto that thread it'll become a cluster **** of 300+ pages in no time, with no one being able to keep track of discussion without dedicating a few hours to lurk through.

They should just make another DA2 forum section for people who have owned the game, like a special privledge, a single thread seems a little half assed. Who knows, maybe it was rushed.:?

Well it IS there forum after all. If they wanted to make a sub forum for *registered game owners who make above $100,000,000/year and drive BMW's and have only black hair they could. After all, it isn't like they are keeping the rest of you from accessing the other 99.999% of the forum.

*If that were to happen I would be excluded. Stupid economics.

honestly... who would drive a BMW if you make that much money? I might buy one to access the forum if I met the other criterias, but nothing else :P

It doesn't stop people from posting what they dislike or what they like. It give game owners a place to discuss their likes and dislikes without non-owners getting involved.

Dear mr. Priestly,

Where's the DA:O owners forum? And the ME2 owner's forum?

It seems to be missing from the Social Network.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Right. And they can keep posting here.

So what is the purpose? Registered customers are worth more than unregistered customers?

I hate the idea of registering games, I only do it if I feel forced to.

Its probably because those who actually own the game and have it registered wouldnt dare speak bad about it. Having an oppinion means you get banned on this website.

This is why I still hang around on the DA2 forums. Comments like this one slowly cheer me up after being dissaponted by the game.

At this point, it doesn't matter what they do, because too many people are just bound and determined to interpret everything in as a poor a light as possible. Likely, nothing short of the entire EA executive staff and the various DA2 leads committing public seppukku, after having composed abject apology haikus, would appease people.  And even then, a lot of 'em would still b!tch about how ritual suicide was totally better before EA got involved and that their haiku sucked and was clearly a rush job and that the intestines of some of the suicides kinda looked fake, etc.,etc., etc.

Not saying there aren't reasons to be annoyed with EA/Bioware, or that their public relations couldn't use some serious retooling, but it's become this self-perpetuating thing where pretty much no move is a good move anymore, and there's a lot of backlash bandwagon jumping going on as well.

Lol, so this won't be a PR backfire at all. No idea what the hell is happening to Bioware, they used to be a company with business practices and customer relations ethics respected by many, even if people didn't always like their games. But recently, pretty much since EA took over, they've been acting like turkey's voting for christmas.
