True. The fact that already there are posts in the owner's forum that dismiss everyone else as "children" speaks volumes though. Those comments are based of the same interperatation as a good few others, as far as I can tell.didymos1120 wrote...
Not saying there aren't reasons to be annoyed with EA/Bioware, or that their public relations couldn't use some serious retooling, but it's become this self-perpetuating thing where pretty much no move is a good move anymore, and there's a lot of backlash bandwagon jumping going on as well.

Right. And they can keep posting here.
So what is the purpose?
Have you not noticed the absurd amount of spamming going on?
Registered customers are worth more than unregistered customers?
See? A simple statement of fact (if you're not registered, you can still post on this forum), gets taken as "Bioware does not care about unregistered people!" Why? How do even wring that meaning from what he said?

With all due respect sir,
You released a demo version for everyone to try, so it's not like people who don't have the game registered haven't had exposure to the game.
Essentially what you're doing is creating a forum for the people who like your game, and the people who don't, so that the people who don't can be segregated out and ignored. It's not the first time someone's done this, this was done in numerous places with Asheron's Call 2.
The end result of that wasn't pretty, I don't see any better end here. This just continues to alienate portions of the fanbase Bioware spent years cultivating, as the feedback you're sending is "Your opinions and thoughts don't matter".
You're welcome to do this if you'd like, but you should be aware, the message you're sending isn't a pretty one. Especially since the first few threads on your new board are about how terrible unregistered people are and how we can't possibly have valid thoughts, which no one seems to be locking.
So it looks like what it is, a place for people with positive opinions to bash people who have issues without us even being able to respond.
It's a fast way to make sure you lose revenues from me sir.

This is a great move, seriously. This way they try to force people into registering the game so they can more easily ban them and restrict their access to the game. Bioware is more and more reminding me of the country i live in. Only....70 years ago.
Smile or you get banned.... That's one way to deal with people being negative.

But so what? People were doing that in THIS forum. Have been for days. Besides which, just go look at the thing: this anti-spam experiment has failed. A Man-Giraffe-Dog thread has already made an appearance, people are starting "This new forum must die" threads, and so forth. Nothing of any practical significance has changed. And just wait until people start using the PS3/360 UPC codes to register "their" copies.

It's funny that I go into that forum and still see people rating the game in-between a 6 and an 8! If the goal was to get 'happy' scores from fans, it doesn't seem to be working.
Still more interesting is the jump from this game to a Jade Empire sequel already. Shouldn't you guys wait a few weeks?

Why they created a "Registered" only board is a moot point.
As someone else already pointed out EA/Bioware owns and operates this forum. They can create or remove any boards that they wish.

It was not an assumption on my side, it was a question. A question based on total confusion of why they make 2 forums with the exact same purpose.
I don't really see that much spam here considering the huge amount of traffic. Most of the posts are actually on topic.

So, i played the game, disliked it, and didnt register here cause i refunded it. I have a valid oppinion about it. And even IF i would still have that game i wouldnt register it here cause with my oppinion, and the fact that i express it here, id be way to scared they ban access to my game, or the DLC for DA:O that i paid for.

They get alot of hate and then make a new forum, only for registered users! Basically, a kiss ass or feck off forum!
Why can't they handle the truth! A monkey could have written this crap and obviously monkeys designed it!
This game should have picked off after the first!
1. Alistar and your Warden!
2. Your Warden only.
3. Alistar only! (This would be for new players too!)
The game begins with you recruiting the new Ferelden Grey Wardens! In the 3 scenario you would be Alistars first recruit! Instead, we are dumped upon a guy I could care less for!

I should probably not find that funny, but I do.
Be kind of douchey to register a rental though, some poor sucker is going to be buying it in a couple of months.

My personal experience with the demo and several hours on my friend's X-Box was more than adequate to judge Dragon Age II, and I really shouldn't have to buy a 60 dollar PC game (overpriced, not to mention early DLC) to be able to post my (unfortunately, negative) feedback about it where registered users do. What's next? A General Discussion Plus™ sub forum where only DLC owners can post?
I suggest getting your **** together and focusing on doing what you do best (i.e. good RPG's with balls) before you embarrass yourself further with this whole DA2 fiasco.

Ther UPC/Barcode is the same on EVERY SINGLE COPY of the game. It can be registered a billion times.

Well I do not care to much about the other forum, but this "post here if you bought it" explanation reminds me the "Cassis de Dijon" from 1978, when Germany was trying to get rid of French liquor from their market, but as a member of European Community they were obligated to not discriminate products from any other countries that belongs to the EC, including France. So they passed a law that forbade the sales (as a liquor) of any product that contained less than 28% of alcohol. It obligated both German and foreign producers...but 95% of the products containing less than 28% of alcohol was acctualy imported, so actually it discriminated products from other EC countries.
There is a Demo od DA2 available, so one may very reasonable assume, that people who dislike the Demo will not buy the game. Also now there is enough information available on the net about the "action" focus of the game, that only the action oriented players will buy the game As a result one may logically assume that the amount of people who actually bought the game and liked it will be greater then those who disliked it.
Because - for heaven and earth - why would anyone buy a game (s)he dislikes?

Negativity has not (nor will it ever) gotten anyone banned.
What does get someone banned is insulting their fellow community members, disregarding the site's TOS insofar as discussions about things such as piracy are concerned and repeated spamming.
We don't mind if you're unhappy about the game. What we do mind is when you break the site rules that you agreed to when you signed up, or when you attack your fellow community members because you don't agree with their opinion. And those apply equally to people who are happy with the game and who are unhappy with the game.
But if you really do think that we're systematically banning the dissenters, then I suppose nothing I can tell you could change your mind. I'd imagine the large number of people who remain unbanned would be proof enough, though.
