I also don't place myself in situations where I have to act that way on official forums/chat for that to happen, whether it be their right or a mistake. Regardless, I doubt very much that situation will happen again considering many of the news sites and forums threw a fit over it.

I forgot, it doesn't matter because they got caught out. My bad. The issue isn't at all to do with the entire thing being ****ed up in the first place. That they can delete your EA account and you would actually lose games if they were required for you to ever login to your account.

I used to think EA were getting better, but i think they just lagged behind for a few years. They are worse than ever.

As far as I know, nobody's had their account deleted.  Account locked, temporarily, yes.  Deleted, no.

I'm not registering my games. Sorry, Bioware, but you/EA can't be trusted.

"It was an accident, we didn't mean to ban him from his games!" Doesn't work when I've seen the screenshots of you saying otherwise before the PR cover-up.

I guess this is an easy way for Bioware to ignore the hatred, in a matter of days this thread will have no BW feedback, in a week, deleted for inactivity or something.

Good work.

Well I read to page five, and all I heard was a bunch of "I hate you bioware, why did you make a forum that makes it difficult for me to troll? *with teary eyes* Screw you guys I'm going to back 4chan"

Troll tears are rare, I'm thoroughly enjoying this.

Game-owner forums have always existed so that we don't have to deal with peasant piracy riff-raff in our discussions.

Buy the game and register it should you choose to participate.

Nah, no one has. Not that i know of, anyway. I'm just saying what could happen. Why register your forum account & game account and risk bans carrying onto both? I'd rather keep them far far away from eachother. Seems to be the case with many people.

As i said in another thread, we do not need 2 copies of the same game in one house. Because my bf is such a collection freak and wants everything to be registered on his accounts, i don't get to write in the Fenris thread. Or in any section besides this one. How is that fair?I should rally his manhood and steal his account or what? xD

That's unfortunate, but I suppose it amounts to being collateral damage. If community members were actually responsible and acted like adults, I guess we wouldn't have the situation that we're currently in. Maybe your BF wouldn't mind if you used his account for the forums.

I am sure he will love my reason :lol:He heard enuff of Fenris this week, he'll kick me out of bed soon.

It's sad that even if you have a Bioware game registered, you aren't allowed to post if you don't have a particular one. Oh well. *goes back to playing*

What are you talking about?  What screenshots?  Care to share?  Please don't tell me that they conveniently don't exist anymore and/or you can't remember where you saw them.

OK so let me get this straight, you are so sick of people telling you that you have failed that you only want to hear the "registered" owners? What's next?

"Registered Game Owner Who Like Dragon Age II and he will write that he likes it thread"?

The epic failure of Dragon Age II is only surpassed by the fact that you honestly think that this game is good. Sorry for being so harsh however from all the great bioware rpgs I have played this is the worst by far.

0.02

I'm struggling to see your problem. They have added a forum. The old one still exists and you can continue to give your "constructive criticism" here. The new one exists presumably so that people who do own the game and are prepared to take a minute to register, can have the usual discussion without being subjected to massive amounts of spam.

Pretty simple really, it looks bad.  No other forums have similar "registered only" sections.  It's not a big deal but it sends a bad message.

And I've been browsing these forums since the game came out, I haven't seen this "spam" you're talking about.  Unless negative criticism counts.

You seriously haven't seen any spam. What about the giraffe pictures? Yesterday there was (at least) one in every thread.

i assumed it was there because they want people to register their copy of the game, and so it might be seen as an incentive to do so. i dont know how it works but they must get something nack from people registering it. i dont think it has anything to do with reviews.

I don't have them on hand, no. I don't save every damn link I ever encounter. I'm sure somebody can show it, it's not like it was deleted. The screenshot in question features the french guy who compared EA to the devil complaining he can't play his games, to which a Bioware mod admits that EA are allowed to do it, and proceeds to lock, and delete, the thread.

Exactly, it accomplishes nothing except adding fuel to the fire.

ahhh yeah. thought it would be something along those lines. i did actually think i had registered my game, but i cant post on that forum so i must not have. weird. not that im bothered like.
if i were trying to encourage people to register though, a seperate forum wouldnt be that appealing. extra stuff in game however would be!

No other forums do this? I'm pretty sure I had to register my game before I could even view half of the subforums on the Paradox Interactive boards.

I don't like or hate that there's a new forum. I can't imagine why anyone would legitimately care enough to be angry about it. It's just a subforum.

Try posting anything on the WOW forums without an active account. Try posting anything about Rift if you have one, and see what happens.

MMOs have a completely different business and forum structure. Those that have paid the active fee to access those games have access to the forums, that that have not paid the fee do not have access to either.
You simply can't "rent" a WoW account for 7 days and have relevant imput on that game.

You could do a 14 days trial - that is no relevant input then?

The limited access trial only has enough content to allow a person to decide if they want to pay for a full access account.
In 14 days I could have a trial account capped to level 20, capped profession, and 1gold a far cry from what a full account would be able to do but still that is only a fraction of the content WoW has available.
In 14 days with a rented copy of DA2 I could have beaten the game and experienced everything that a person that bought the retail game has experienced minus the BE store.

its a side product to a paranoid mentality.

"what they saying about me ?"
"they think they are better than me"
"i want in,whats in there ?..the same ?..i want in anyway..just in case"

What's so bad about giving owners of the game a forum where they can post without all the trolling - if you don't have the game registered you can still post here. I can understand the decision given that the great majority of the whiners doesn't have the game (or at least not registered).
