If there's an expansion and/or substantial sized DLC, please add some new specialization types especially for the warrior. Templar makes no sense for a Hawke who doesn't go for the opression of mages, and Reaver and Berserker are kind of the opposite of the way I like to play warrior types, as professional and controlled fighters. I know precision is more a rogue thing under this system, but a choice between raging idiot and raging bigot ain't much of a choice.

It's hard to say really, DLC is a tough choice since it's going to be somewhat bitesize ... the best DLC i've played out of bioware was mass effect 2's lair of the shadowbroker.. there was a hint of it in the non DLC game, and we all know how that story started in ME1, perhaps play upon something that happened in origins that might effect or come to Kirkwall, something we can get stuck into that spans the years that this story is told.. having it tie back to Origins is key I think, im sure there are some stories there that weren't fully told :)

as for expansion? I'd like to see something like awakening (though not so .. I dunno, overpowered when it comes to characters) give us a story that happens at the same time, but somewhere else.. maybe tell the story of Starkhaven getting overthrown?

Things were understandably over the top in Awakenings - I mean, you just killed an ancient god that was wearing a dragon, and you expect the progression of the character's story to go back to trying to slap around a few maleficarum or a deranged paragon?

Another idea. What if the DLC was set in the main game and we make a new toon who doesn't have this amazing story like The Warden or Hawke but is just a merchant who gets involved in the crime ridden underworld of Kirkwall.
The game world will have already been built so all that would be needed is new quests and you could incorperate alot of the feedback from the boards.

I want more dialogues with the companions. One of the parts I've enjoyed most about DA2 is the way it handles companions, but I want more. More dialgues for Hawke with them, and more of those cut-scenes where they interact with each other.

I'm sorry...i goofed earlier when i posted what i wanted in DA3 when this thread is about a DLC for DA2...so can i just say what i would like to see in a DLC for DA2...can i, huh, can i please?........OH thanks :)

I will go with what  a lot want ...a continuation of the main story that we play from within DA2....not a stand alone DLC. Lets expand DA2 , add all the things that are missing from DA2 (and that is quite a lot) and give us something that will make us smile to make for the disappointment some of us had.

Oh and bring Leliana to my side again...:)

A large, well-done expansion pack on-par with Lair of the Shadow Broker's quality. That bolsters the world.

And more Leliana. I have several questions for her.

DLC:

1. Remade Act 3 for Mages. As Templar it was fine, but as mage it was awful. ((SPOILER down))

Possible way to do it. With Hawke and Co Orsino and some circle mages manage to push back Templars and make their way to courtyard. Then starts the cutscene part where rest of Templars hold of Hawke and others , while Meredith fights Orsino(( This cutscene could be used in Templar ending also with some changes.). Orsino sees that he cant beat Meredith and as last desperate act turns into that thing and then Templars pull back as you kill that thing. Then game goes on as it does now.

2. Playing as Cassandra as she hunts down Hawke and co.The DLC ends as she finds Varric and he starts to tell the story ( DA2 begins )

3. Playing as Sebastian as he begins to take back Starkhaven and ends as he marches with his army towards Kirkwall. Has good potential to be great DLC. More political aspects to the game and the characters journey to get Starkhaven back in his control by other means also rather than just killing everyone in his way. ( For example. Seb arrives in Starkhaven and starts building up support to overthrow his puppet ruler cousin (( was it cousin? )) he has support of the family in Kirkwall (( cant remember name sry )), but that's not enought to get Starkhaven. He doesnt have much money, some support in city, but still outmatched.)

Also what I'd like to see in DLC. Two kinds of Companion armor upgrades. 1. As it upgrades in game now. 2. Which changes the look of armor. Examble Isabela. Gives some chainmail to some parts of her body or ads metal bracers or something.

I think most people would prefer a full-on expansion pack... but it just seems unlikely, based on things that have been said since DAO's release.

For DLC, I think it really needs to be of ME2 quality. New areas, conversations, items, etc... It also needs to be at least 2-3 hours long. When comparing DAO's DLC to ME2's, the quality gap is HUGE. Lair of the Shadow Broker should be the blueprint for all future Bioware DLC, both in terms of quality and length.

Personally, I prefer stuff that is integrated into the main story, or takes place afterwards. Standalone stuff like Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song may sound fun as a concept, but ultimately they fail to draw me in, and have zero replay value for me.

I'm sure exploring the lives of Hawke's companions could be interesting, but I'd hesitate to buy such a pack. I want to play my character... and my character is Hawke.

definatly not just another character thrown in for 7 bucks, i mean the charechters that bioware has released after release have all been pretty bland; Kasumi, Zaeed, and even even sebastian doens'thave that much other than the chantry boy thing.

I would hoope for a whole NEW are to explore an area that can be explored over the three different acts of the game and the quests to go along with it.

I personally loved dragon age 2 and im now on my second playthrough.

My question is what charactors and plot line should the dlc be or should it be a new charactor like Sebastian was or would you like new weapons and armor?

Some things I'd like to see:-

Playable male/female Elf and Dwarf characters for the main campaign.
The ability to change your companions armour (can't for the life of me figure out why you can't already, it makes a lot of pick-up items pointless.)

LOL... I actually thought of a few things last night night, but my minds gone blank... I'll be back.

Another idea came to my head - expanding upon the Deep Roads expedition. I mean, the expedition travels how deep? A week of traveling through DS? Don't tell me the only thing they ran into is a cave in, a bunch of darkspawn and only one thaig. They could run into some Disciples that survived from Awakening, possibly some other "friends"
Also, the return trip shows a lot of promise - searching for supplies, food, shelter...
Also, I miss genlocks and shrieks :)
SPOILER (with a feeble attempt to mask it):

A chance to save a certain party member when another certain condition is not met would be welcome, I think.

I'd like to see more Specializations, for certain. The Rogue has some amazing options, the Mage is okay, and the Warrior kind of sucks, in my opinion. Mage has proven to be my favorite class, but I only enjoy the Force Mage Specialization.

I wouldn't mind the obvious Starkhaven quest for Sebastien. It would potentially give us both quantity and something of substance. Having a kingdom friendly to Hawke could be important in any sequel (though I fully expect the next game to be set primarily in Orlais).

I loved the Staff of Parthalan. That skin on another staff would be most welcome. I thought the "epic level" gear was a bit underwhelming. It was no big deal, but I'd hoped to find some really cool stuff toward the end of the game. Though I definitely will not by DLC just for gear, I do hope hope any DLC features some cool, potentially scaling (a la Fadeshear) gear.

I could definitely go for an all out expansion, much like Awakening. That said, Awakening felt a bit unpolished, so I'd want a more seamless combination than the DAO/Awakening combination.

I´d like some story expansion DLC like the three missing years after the end of DA2. But I´d rather see a big expansion pack like awakening...

I would like to see....

More Nate.
More Cullen.
More Bethany/Carver after Act 1.
More Varric quests.
More quests like Aveine’s (SPOILER) Courting (SPOILER).
More exploring.
More LI quests.
Time hanging out with companions – at the “Hang Man”.
More getting to know (conversations with) companions.
Another mystery type quest to solve.

Reconciliation with Sebastian (as friend or rival) if you (SPOILER) spared Ander’s – I understand his reaction, but he really needed time to cool down. I would hate to see him become a villain. (SPOILER).

Away to separate Justice and Ander’s. I would like to see them back to the way they were (in Awakening).

I'd like to see what Hawke is up to in the three years between The Last Straw and the ending scene with Cassandra and Varric. Why did he disappear? Where did he go? You should bring one companion over from DA2 on your journey: Your love interest, since Varric says they followed you.

I do want to throw this out there, though: Whatever DLC they release, it better not be one of those "in-game" DLCs, like Return to Ostagar. I want more add-on modules, like Golems and Witch Hunt.

A (mis)adventure involving Hawke's companions, happening during one of the time skips and therefore doesn't involve Hawke. It is accessed in the main game when Hawke comes across the participants and they tell him/her the story...

Rashomon Style.

Thinking on this, I think that the thing I liked most about the game are the characters, the companions, and how things felt really personal.

With this in mind, I'm not sure I would want another Awakenings, which, while that was brilliant in terms of size, was also largely divorced from DAO. Apart from a couple of cameos, it was pretty much stand-alone. You had a whole new party, a whole new realm.

So, how about having an expansion pack that adds a large bundle of content to the DA2 game? If it contained:
- a new companion quest for each companion (which could include some different areas to visit)
- extra conversation and interaction options with characters
- more romance options and conversations with them post-romance completion
- a couple of extra side quests for each Act (not the fetch and carry ones, but the longer interesting ones)
- a couple of more costume/apartment changes depending on events
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
